Who Won E3? From the Worst to the Best of 2014′s Shows

The big events of E3 2014 are over. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Sony, and Nintendo have all presented their visions for the future of gaming. The show was a great win for us gamers, showcasing a decent ratio of new IPs to familiar but noticeably-improved sequels. Hardware took a backseat as us consumers were told why we should consider buying the latest and greatest consoles. But how did each of the big five stack up? Did they each live up to our expectations? (3DS, E3, EA, Microsoft, Next-Gen, Nintendo, PC, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Sony, Ubisoft, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Zelda going back to its roots won E3 imo. Best news of E3 for me.

Yup, Nintendo 'won' E3 in my opinion. Can't wait for Smash Bros either!

The correct answer is: Gamers won the E3. Simple as that.

MS's was flat in the first half because all the multiplat focus (games that'll probably be better on PS4 and definitely PC).

Sony's fell when they started talking about Comics/TV (Thank god not the ENTIRE conference), but they had on extra 30 min over MS.

MS's was pretty much better paced, but overall WOW factor goes to Sony (DAT UNCHARTED 4 IN ENGINE @_@)...

Not to mention Sony is known to save things for Gamescom and TGS in which MS rarely show ANYTHING at. lol

Nobody won.

A 1 minute Zelda tease, a 1 minute Uncharted tease, and a CG Halo 5 tease while all highly anticipated don't win E3. None of those shows were truly stellar, all 3 were solid showings though.

If there has to be a winner it was Ubisoft.

Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Unity, The Division, The Crew, and Rainbow Six all impressed.

Bloodborn, U4, Grim Fandango, No Mans Sky, the spiritual sequel to Journey and the Batmobile won E3.

Nintendo had a good show but only fans would call them the winners, the amount of games on the Sony show is massive you woild need to play the show in slow mition to count them, and almost non of them is coming the the WiiU

"The correct answer is: Gamers won the E3. Simple as that."

Come on now that cheesy answer is boring ;)

However I gotta say for once we're seeing a fairly wide opinion on who won which is surprising. Yesterday it was all Sony won and now everyone appears really split.

Perhaps for once each of the Big three had something great to show?

"Nintendo had a good show but only fans would call them the winners"

How is that any different from what your doing exactly? I would say out of the big 3 I have a bias towards Ninty and Seeing Smash bros, Zelda and Xenoblade was was awesome. If someone sees those and declares them the winners because they love those games, is that wrong?

How is that different to you having the same excitement after seeing Uncharted, The order 1886 and Bloodborne and then declaring them the winners?

sony won and batman is awesoooome

I think every system has a lot of decent looking games coming out. Picking winners all the time is a little annoying because everyone likes different types of games.

I'M SORRY there is NO WAY Ubisoft won with all that BS dancing they had for 25% of their conference! This is meant to be about games not dancing!

I think Nintendo did the best and I don't own or plan to buy a Wii U in the near future, but credit where credit is due....

I almost fell asleep during Sony presentation. Gave up watching it after one hour and no interesting games were shown.
eyeofcore  +   98d ago
It was okay for me, but it didn't get me interested and was put off by all talks about PlayStation Plus and PlayStation TV(Vita TV) and then some...

I can't really remember what was okay on Sony's E3 and I watched it and I am over 24 hours awake, I watched all conferences and Nintendo's Digital Event(Digital COnference) made me scream, say WTF over and over again and I felt like I am going to explode, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, new Zelda footage, Monolith Soft's Xenoblade Chronicles X awsomenes. Its just crazy.

I am glad that I recommended my friend a Wii U, hes right now hyped as fuck. Hes going to go nuke anytime, Itagaki's Devil's Third made me scream...

Right now I feel like I smoke a pack of pot...

I am fucking hyped!

Two remastered games (Halo 1 and2), two graphically polished games (Halo 3 and 4), plus multiplayer for all four, a digital feature series directed by Ridley Scott leading into Halo 5, and a beta invite to Halo 5

All on one disc for the price of one game. I don't understand why you're getting disagrees

What do you mean "Who won E3? E3 ain't ova yet.
HappyWithOneBubble  +   98d ago
I say it was a good E3 all around. Better than last years and I enjoyed it.

Sony hands down. Anyone who had the privledge to watch Sonys conference in a theatre would agree with me. When a Sony exclusive is announced everybody pays attention because they know that Sony truly is AAA. Microsoft shot itself in its other foot this year and Nintendo was a snooze Fest with all kiddie games. I'm truly honored to own a PS4.
aconnellan  +   98d ago
Sony did have a pretty great conference, and I haven't seen Nintendo's yet, but how did Microsoft shoot themselves in the foot?

Only a true Sony Zealot Ponie would think Sony actually had the best presentations this E3 because the reality is they didnt and thats the unanimous decision on all the gaming sites that I have been checking not just my opinion.
sckipt  +   98d ago
Nintendo the worst?

no
A LIVING LEGEND  +   98d ago
They all of them seemed fairly mundane in my opinion, seems like everyone was hoping to pick up quarters after it rained dimes.
Not a huge deal but not without implications, however minor.
E3 was so overhyped this year it almost failed before it began.Prefer MS offerings personally, barely.
muttsurini  +   98d ago
Both MS and Sony had a underwhelming E3
NintendoSonyfan  +   98d ago
Nintendo won hands down with the most new first party IP's, the best exclusives (some of which were previously exclusive to other consoles) and 0 remakes on display.

Sony was a close second though despite their TV focus in the middle.
OpinionSmasher  +   98d ago
SONY ALL THE WAY. Dont even try to say Nintendo won, stop trying to make your Wii U feel special.
