The game noir adventure follows the story of David Young, a detective with the ability to travel back in time who must use his power to solve his wife’s murder and prevent it from ever occurring. D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die uses the power of Kinect to enable advanced gesture and voice control which reflect the hero’s actions and emotions in each scene, bringing the player into the game. The idea of using gestures and voice commands to shape the story and effect emotions onscreen is an intriguing concept. However, I can't help but think that motion games must require super long product testing to counter discrepancies in how different people move their body.

One way to counter this may be to make the motions that lack any real complexity and train the players to use those. I would love to read more about how they go about testing motion controls, or how you write code to get the game to recognize a gesture.
