BREAKING: Itagaki Leaves TECMO, Sues Prez

Posted on 1UP.com, James Mielke has reported that Itagaki, of Ninja Gaiden fame, has left Team Ninja and sued the company's president. No word yet on why he's left Tecmo, but more information will be available shortly after the jump.

Watch him run to Microsoft.

Megaton5805d ago (Edited 5805d ago )

If they love him half as much as he loves them, I can see it happening.

I'm interested in seeing Tecmo's response to this, and whether or not the lawsuit has any legs to stand on.

Superfragilistic5805d ago

It's clear Itagaki has known he was on the move a while back with discontent since Sigma and DOA4. This probably explains his public praise of the 360 as well and his intent to try and get employment at Microsoft.

Good news for Sony fans is that this increases the chances of NG2 eventually coming to PS3, assuming Microsoft didn't pay for exclusivity.

Whoever snaps him up will be very lucky. Despite his outspokenness he is an asset as a rare celebrity developer who has pushed fluid gameplay to new heights. Hopefully they can put him with some better storytellers and we might have an exciting new action franchise! :)

g3nkie5805d ago

Ha, you know dam well this guy is going to go to M$. He knows hes safe which is why he was probaly saying all the crap he was saying the pervious weeks......

sonarus5804d ago

Sucks for all parties involved. Hope the dude gets his $hit sorted out

dan-boy5804d ago

he's supported them since the original xbox, and will undoutably be welcomed by them. perhaps they mite fund a new studio in japan with itagaki as head?

hades075804d ago

I don't see how Ninja Gaiden 2 could possible be ported to other consoles since it is a Xbox 360 exclusive published by Microsoft Game Studios and they more than likely paid for the game to be paid, even lending Team Ninja a number of play testers. Its the same as seeing a sony published title like Uncharted or Ratchet and Clank coming to the 360.

LiQuid revOlvEr5804d ago

yeeeeah boi!!!

Itagakis jobless- probably cos they laughed at his shades!

THE_JUDGE5804d ago

If he finds shelter with MS it may strain the relationship between MS and Techmo. MS would hate to see NG2 and the DOA series go multiplatform and have both series stay multiplatform.

tudors5804d ago

MS would be a good move for him.

MikeGdaGod5804d ago (Edited 5804d ago )

bring on NG Sigma 2!!!

gamesR4fun5804d ago (Edited 5804d ago )

still sad but it explains a lot of the drivel coming out of his mouth

damrightfresh5804d ago

Its not going to happen Itagaki will just end up suing Microsoft in the end...He only like the 360..I doubt he want to work wit microsoft even bungie dont even want too..lol

chaosatom3335804d ago

he either really loves money, xbox, or hates ps3.

LJWooly5804d ago

I have a question: will anyone here care about whether or not if Ninja Gaiden 2 comes to PS3?

rogimusprime5804d ago

during that last interview where he said

"I won't be working on Ninja Gaiden 3", it raised an eyebrow or two.

I could see NG2 being multiplatform.

How stupid is the president at tecmo?

JVIDICAN5805d ago

dead or alive confirmed multiplatform?

Ashton5804d ago

he was like a dam standing infornt of PS3 ports,,, with him gone I can easily see a port for DOA

Alexander Roy5804d ago

If that happens, that was Itagakis smartest move ever. So, yeah, I sure hope so.

Says you5805d ago (Edited 5805d ago )

I said when hes retired from making the Dead or Alive series and Ninja Gaiden that his games would go Multiplatform considering his subordinates would later on port it on the other system

Now what did 7h3ultim8p00 say that this game is funded by Microsoft that maybe but since the leader that made the game has quit Tecmo it seems like some uncertain game can go multiplatform later on and same thing with Dead or Alive series.

SUP3R5805d ago

lol
I read that post you made a few mins ago.
don't say nothing about Kojima and the FF dev team k?
Thanks... :D

As a company, Tecmo has an upper hand in every aspect of the dispute. They handled their business in a very professional and proper manner. The facts are this, Tomonobu Itagaki is a certified rapist. He fornicates with female Tecmo employees which Dark Sniper is sure to be prohibited in Tecmo's rules of conduct.

With this said, Tecmo has every right to fight this monetary dispute with Mr. Itagaki. Tecmo LTD. simply do not want to pay a rapist which is clearly understandable.

Dark Sniper expects the worst when/if Itagaki joins Microsoft Game Studios. They will be inheriting the profile of a rapist, scumbag who looks like the asian version of Michael Jackson.

$niper

Pain5804d ago

M$ is so going to hire this tool, Good riddance big boobs all in one place.

Kleptic5804d ago

^^Sniper..."Asian version of Michael Jackson"....

hahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhah ahahahahhaha

Bill Gates5804d ago

NG2 is a timed exclusive, and this guy just got the memo. Now he's ripsh!t that he didn't develope on the better system......HAHAHAHAHA

chaosatom3335804d ago

yeah, he is gay, but it's sucks for microsoft.

hahahahaha.

morganfell5804d ago

i wouldn't bet on that idiot running to ms. first ms would likely have announced something already. second, last week he back off his negative position on the ps3. maybe sony will get him first.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
