Today Microsoft announced Scalebound, an Xbox One exclusive by Platinum Games directed by Hideki Kamiya. The publisher also released a beautiful piece of artwork setting the mood for the game.
This game looks like it can be a HUGE title for X1, really cant wait to see more about it. Platinum games is no joke, they really make great titles, and this is a brand new IP! And btw that image is now my Desktop background looks epic.
I think the game is multiplayer or Co op of sorts to. Customizable characters and your very own custom dragon sounds very unique imo. @Pedro PG is a third person action studio they made Bayonetta, Vanquish, so its not terribly surprising this game is DMC like considering the type of games they make. The character in the game doesnt seem to be a demon but (sorry Skyrim) "Dragon Born" of sorts. Taking a dragon form with the armor that he forms into. I love PG and I can't wait to see more on this game.
There are too many DMC elements here, the main character seems to be half demon ?
Was thinking more of something like the dragon MMO SOE has. Though this game more likely - hopefully - will be the bastard son of Panzer Dragoon, Vanquish and Monster Hunter. Hell, the Monster Hunter I've always wanted: one where you caught, trained and used a dragon to hunt/fight other dragons.
Where are you getting info on the game? Was it part of the presentation?
@Volkama Yeah it was in the teaser. http://youtu.be/OEPufgiJp9g If you skip to 1:54 you'll see other dragons taking on the monster. That could be AI but it also could be online of sorts.
Idk about huge, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. I was hoping Platnium would've announced Vanquish 2, but this IP looks good.
cgi trailer did nothing for me. lets be truthful here....the final game will never look like the cgi trailer that was shown. in this day in age i cannot believe the xbox hardware is not powerful enough to use in game graphics.
The game could be years away for all we know. Maybe they didn't want to show off the gameplay because it wasn't ready. I don't see how this has anything to do with the power of any system. 75 percent of the games you're going to see is going to be CGI.
......... Or maybe they aren't far along enough in development to show any gameplay. You know, kind of how The Order was first revealed last E3.
but the order was never cgi. it was all in game! even right now the cinematics are ALL in game. they are not using cgi at all.
TO was in-engine IIRC
Wait so you would rather them just not announce the game which is likely not coming out till Fall 2015 or Spring 2016. I don't understand your stance. It has nothing to do with power and all to do with when the game will be available. The Order is coming out soon, well it was suppose to, so that's why it's in game footage. Did you not just see The Witcher 3 playable on stage?
Best version of the game: Semi to full open world that lets you customize your equipment and build the skills of your dragon. Largely single player but with either multiplayer event or a co-op campaign. Multiple flying sections. Worst: single to semi branching staged corridors with on rails flying segments. Customization still there but the campaign is multiplayer heavy with AI substitutes.
The game is too early in development to even think about. But the gameplay is going to be insane. If there's one thing Platnium does is gameplay. I can already see the fact that you can ride a creature and go head to head with another creature is fucking insane. It could be a good, but at this point we don't know. I look forward to seeing more at gamescon, TGS or the next E3.
Bayonetta 2 and now Scalebound. I still need to play The Wonderful 101. Really want a new Vanquish too, maybe: Nintendo - Bayonetta 2 Microsoft - Scalebound Sony - Vanquish 2. :3
I am excited, but the main character looks very un-heroic haha.
So is this gonna be a fantasy set in modern times? (hence the beats headphones lol) If the story is cool and gameplay is fun (especially with Co-OP) Microsoft may have a winner here... WHO DOESNT WANT THEIR OWN DRAGON? :P
I will keep an eye on this one. The monster hunter meets DmC gameplay seems interesting. It makes me glad Nintendo screwed everyone over with monster hunter because now we are seeing games with better graphics and gameplay coming around.
This must be the exclusive 3rd party title Microsoft were talking about.
No, this is second party. Published by MS, owned by PG.
This game looks sick I don't care what anybody says...cgi or not...please fly looking forward to see what it has to offer
Reminds me of Drakengard. For now it just looks interesting.
Ok why is he wearing headphones? Looks good otherwise
I love platnium games.
If this game is like Dragon's Dogma, then it'll be a hilarious comparison game if Dragon's Dogma 2 gets announced because it would be Itsuno's Dragon's Dogma vs Kamiya's Scalebound. Devil May Cry's Predecessor vs Successor. I don't think any developer can compare to the gameplay mechanics of Platinum though.
Dragon May Cry/ Dragon May Hunt. I'm okay with this.
