Looks awesome. Definitely a takeover.

Bubble down.*

We all know that this gen will be like last gen, Playstation and Xbox will end it off with a 1-3 million difference in overall hardware sales.

Because half way through it most people will own BOTH consoles due to game diversity.

MasterCornholio1206d ago

There's already a 4 million difference between which means your claiming that the Xbox One will start outselling the PS4. I dont see that happening anytime soon.

Artista 1206d ago

I agree. Heck, Sony's PS4 is still available in more markets than the ONE.

I know some of you would like if one console ruled them all, but it's not going to happen.

The sales will spread across all platforms like it did last generation.

OpieWinston1206d ago (Edited 1206d ago )

@Master
4 million difference? Based on official numbers or predictions.

And sales differences can change within a season.

This is the beginning of the generation, last gen each system had 80+ million units, and now that the market is being opened up to China that increases the playerbase.

At this point you have a small fraction of people owning current gen systems, and others waiting for GAMES to sell the system to them.

Did I say that the Xbox and PS4 would be neck and neck, soon? No I didn't... I said this gen will end off with a similar overall hardware sale difference.

Both platforms will sell, especially with Yoshida vs Spencer...It'll be interesting to see how the competition invokes more and more games/features.

I'm just saying that anyone who says
"SONY WILL LOSE"
"MICROSOFT WILL LOSE"
are retarded...because they all get our money since both platform will have a diverse amount of games that will SELL the system to everyone.

Even the Microsoft/Sony haters out there, they will pick up the opposite platform because of Uncharted/Gears/Killzone/Halo/ Little Big Planet/Conker/The Last Guardian/Fable/Gran Turismo/Forza: Motorsport/Driveclub/Forza: Horizon/Etc...

Finally someone who makes sense on this site. Try explaining that to Patrick23 or whatever account he keeps changing to so he can send PM's trolling with day old different accounts and agreeing with himself on here

I don't see this gen ending like that. I think Sony will soundly sell about 10 million more PS4's than XB1's. I don't think it will matter in the long run, though. I think they will be neck to neck in software sales and microsoft will sell more services. It's hard to predict these things, because we don't know what games are coming out and how those games sell the systems. A game like Mario Kart is going to legit sell a million Wiiu's. Can Uncharted, Gears, Halo, GOW, do that? We will see.

wodan1206d ago (Edited 1206d ago )

lol last gen MS lead with 10 million units reduced to Sony leading by 1-2 million despite MS having a year head start, so yeah it will be like last gen(sarcasms).
only in NA where the two consoles will be close to each other sales wise, the rest of the world is another story.

DigitalRaptor1206d ago (Edited 1206d ago )

Stop with this delusion. It's not funny anymore.

The only reason it was close last-gen with 80 million 360s and 82 million PS3s, is because the 360 launched a year earlier. I could mention something about inflated install base numbers because of multiple RROD re-purchases, but that would not be fair as it's not 100% measurable.

So... both current-gen consoles have released at the same time, and PS4 is 3.5-4 million units ahead of Xbone, only 7 months in. Seeing as though the PS3 caught up an 8 million unit lead that the 360 had from its time on the market, if both last-gen consoles had launched at the same time, PS3 would now be ahead by not only 2 million, but roughly 10-11 million units.

And this was a time where PS3 had overwhelming negativity on its side and a higher price point for an entire generation. PlayStation is a stronger global brand. Xbone is NEVER catching up, and certainly won't be 2-3 million in it by the end of the generation, especially since PS4 doesn't have any of the negative attributes of the PS3.

maniacmayhem1205d ago

@Digital

The only one delusional is you and it is very funny.

So you are saying the only reason why 360 was ahead was because of the year's head start?

Well then can we apply that type of logic to PS4 and the only reason it's ahead is because it's available in more countries? More countries, more customers, more sales right? You don't seem to mention that anywhere in your comment.

"Xbone is NEVER catching up,..."

Wow, your sony defense shields are impressive. Sony was able to catch up because just like X1 is currently doing, sony was able to shed off the negativity of the PS3 through price cuts, PR and console revisions. Just like the Xbox One is doing now, so more than likely the Xbox One will catch up.

choujij1205d ago (Edited 1205d ago )

You seem so sure, yet it certainly didn't happen with the PS2, did it? And, the original Xbox was a great system with great exclusives that didn't have this kind of a stigma attached to it.

DigitalRaptor1205d ago (Edited 1205d ago )

@ ManiacMayhem.

NO. I am using strict fact and using historical data. You are delusional if you cannot process that data and use it to come to a logical conclusion, as I did. I know you prefer Xbox and hope that I'm wrong about any "attack" I'm imposing on Microsoft, but you are the one on the defensive right now.

YES. The only reason the 360 was ahead was because it launched a year earlier and had 1 year (and 1.5 years in Europe) to gain roughly 8 million units ahead of Sony. That is FACT. It's also fact that Sony (despite all the negativity, disadvantages and higher price point for a whole generation), caught up the 8 million lead and surpassed it to remain.

What is FACT, is that PlayStation is a stronger global brand, and PS3 would be 11 million units ahead of the 360 had they both launched simultaneously. Strict historical measurement. Use it, please don't deny it.

Another FACT, since you want to use the flaccid "countries" argument... Microsoft has already launched in their strongest regions. You must know this. I know this. Microsoft certainly knows this, which is why they launched in those regions before others. Do you think launching in Nicuragua or Estonia is going to improve Xbone sales to catch up? No, it's not. I didn't mention it cause it's worthless, but because you brought it up...

Call it a defence if you want. I have provided facts. Cold hard numbers. Logic. You provide the continued delusions because you don't agree.

"Sony was able to catch up because just like X1 is currently doing, sony was able to shed off the negativity of the PS3 through price cuts, PR and console revisions. Just like the Xbox One is doing now, so more than likely the Xbox One will catch up."

RIGHT..... So Sony's weakest performing console still beat Microsoft's strongest last-gen, and that was when they were at "rock bottom" so-to-speak. So you actually believe that a Sony that has the lead console of this generation, with absolutely none of the disadvantages that PS3 had is going to be overtaken by a brand with much less global acumen and sway in the industry? The ONLY place Xbone has a chance to outsell the PS4 is North America or maybe the UK, and that won't be for a while, and it STILL won't be anywhere near close enough to catch up.

Xbone would have to consistently outsell the PS4 by 50k a week for over 60 consecutive weeks. It's not happening. Learn to #Dealwithit. Seriously.

Meh, I get none of the profits from sales. I just game to have a nice relaxing time.

Clown_Syndr0me1206d ago

This. When will people finally get bored of these "wars". People only bring in sales figures when they have nothing else to offer in a discussion.

AD7051205d ago

Because a game selling a shitload means better quality for some odd reason. Wii fit is one of the most bought games in history. Doesn't make it good because of that.

SoulSercher6201206d ago

Halo 2 Anniversary would entice me to buy an XB1. Hopefully it's shown.

hello121206d ago

I looked at the numbers for PS3 and x box 360 and these are the official numbers not made up numbers by Sony fans.

Sony last word of PS3 sales was November 2013. 80 million shipped to retailers.

Microsoft last word on 360 sales was March 2014. 83.7 million.

Its very unlikely Sony sold 1 million each month for the four months to retailers to match Microsoft numbers in March. Microsoft has a slim lead mostly likely of 1 million or more by March 2014.

For the most part last generation was even. Its way to early to claim victory over Microsoft, it could all change in a few years. 3 million gap isn't that big when you look at how the last generation played out. Sony caught up eventually in 2012 and its been neck and neck ever since.

DigitalRaptor1205d ago (Edited 1205d ago )

"I looked at the numbers for PS3 and x box 360 and these are the official numbers not made up numbers by Sony fans."

You did? where are the facts to back up your claims? Is VGChartz made up by Sony fans? http://www.vgchartz.com/emb...

"Its very unlikely Sony sold 1 million each month for the four months to retailers to match Microsoft numbers in March. Microsoft has a slim lead mostly likely of 1 million or more by March 2014. "

What the EFF is this tin-foil hat ISH? Are you this delusional and scared? The difference is 3.5-4 million and growing. A price drop and more games is not going to close a gap that large unless Microsoft manages to sell 50k more Xbones than PS4s for over 60 consecutive weeks. Not happening.
-----

"For the most part last generation was even."

Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 a year before the PS3. It sold roughly 8 million units before PS3 was launched on the market and, like you said, PS3 caught up (and surpassed it) by 2012. So basically, the overpriced console that was surrounded by negativity, biased media, terrible marketing, and supposedly "no games" would be 11 MILLION units ahead had both consoles launched simultaneously. Does that add anything to your perspective?

What is going to change in a few years? Do you think that Xbox will become a more relevant GLOBAL brand than PlayStation? Sorry, but that's not happening.

If the Xbox 360 that was the lead platform with multi-billion Microsoft behind it couldn't beat Sony's worst selling home machine last-gen, how will the Xbone top the PS4 when it has none of the disadvantages of the PS3?

Your comment reeks of fear that Sony is back on top.
