Destiny: Official Tweet Announcing Xbox One Beta Deleted by Bungie Without Explanation

Today Bungie tweeted to announce Destiny’s beta coming to Xbox One in July, but that wasn’t particularly new, as Activision had announced that testing would come by then during its latest financial conference call.

What's more insteresting is that the tweet was deleted without an apparent explanation. (Destiny, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

???why would they delete it? Or why announce in the first place just to delete it? Was it a mistake?
Crazyglues  +   540d ago
Probably was a mistake..., this happens all the time, I 'm sure it's not a sign that the demo is not coming to Xboxone and more of just a mistake on the timing..

Since this game is clearly coming to both systems I'm sure the demo will be on both systems as well, just a slight mix up on the exact date. / No big deal. (I don't think you should be worried if your on XboxOne, I'm sure the demo will be on your system as well.

Maybe it has to do with the big PS4 logo at the end of your comment when you're on a Xbox page lol.

I personally think Bungie "ruched" the announcement for the beta when MS was planning on making it an E3 surprise at least to confirm to the fans Bungie is still on a good place with them you know after announcing the exclusive content for the PlayStation platforms!

This is a scandal that Netural Gaming Force needs to find out:)

They are partnering with sony...They can't even mention the competitors. Microsoft has to announce it themselves. But that;s my guess.

This. I'm pretty sure the legal agreement between Sony and Bungie stipulates that all advertisement, printed and word of mouth, shall only include Sony consoles until a specific date. That tweet would be considered a breach of agreement.

Yeah this sounds about right

I feel like it's Activision muzzleing Bungie due to their Marketing deal with Sony. I just can't see Bungie giving xbox gamers the cold shoulder after so many years of support ya know?

At the end of the day, like any other business it's money that speaks.

Bungie and Activision must've had an agreement with Sony since Bungie is a independent developer. Bungie own the IP, Activision have publishing rights.

So all the fuss about the beta access was for 4 days, SMH at the angry Xbox fans acting betrayed and the ps4 fans who were were bragging like they were the only ones getting access to the beta. I for one thought the beta was for ps4 fans only.

That tweet was probably deleted because of the exclusive marketing deal with sony, It's funny that in the article you see Phil Spencer retweeted it.

So how is deleting a tweet a big deal? You go to the official Destiny Beta FAQ page, it states everything you need to know about the Beta on all 4 platforms. The beta is coming in July on all the platform, nothing has changed.

Who cares for all we know this game could be a flop... so they need us to play this game more for them than for us.. it's better to get our feedback sooner than later... they are the one making the $500 million bet.. that just off the dev Brand name that we as gamers are going eat up / buy this project called Destiny.

For all we know it could be a the biggest thing ever. We don't know enough to say for sure but is being a pessemist about it really necessary. I mean don't you WANT good games?
B1uBurneR  +   538d ago
yes I want good games, once they are tested, released and reviewed. This wouldn't apply to this game.. All I've seen so far is just another fps with a new coating.

Just like they fired Marty O'Donnell without explanation. Not feeling this new Bungie.

His music is still in it no worries there. Or are you the type that holds personal grudges against corporations over things you know nothing about? (Last I checked no one knows anything as to the circumstances of why he left)
Activemessiah  +   540d ago
I hope for their sake this game sells like hotcake.
Ghost_Nappa  +   539d ago
It was probably an accident that it was posted early since activision has a marketing agreement with sony.
