Sorry Sony, but it's been 8 years now. Care to turn in a bit of homework?
was the game not canceled??? same thing with Agent.... people are still waiting?! candle was blown out years ago!
Sony don't want to talk about the game, they don't hype it or claim it as a selling point, but people in the internet keep bringing it up.
IT IS COMING, PROOF https://www.youtube.com/wat... whats with the disagrees?? if it wasn't in development why the wouldn't shu just say so? its coming people...
It's like an unicorn, they say it exists but no one has seen it.
I know a person who is still somehow hyped about Agent despite the total blackout of information since it getting announced. That person is crazy, of course.
they slowly become myths like Half-Life 3.
Idk.. the build they had back in 2009 was on the ps3, using the cell processor.. if they were to make it on the Ps4 wouldn't they basically need to recode the entire game? like. start from scratch? They originally said they couldn't get it to work on ps3.. so idk. I'm hoping it gets announced by Sony Japan.. if it isn't.. alot of people will leave E3 disappointed. AT least give us a January release. Start off the new year with a great game.
The game is being made. It has had some troubles obviously. There is so much expectations for this game and they are trying to make another masterpiece. It will be worth the wait. It will be shown this year at E3 or TGS.
Sony aren't the type to not publicly say they have cancelled something. If it were cancelled they would have announced that the game is cancelled instead of saying "its coming"
it not coming
They've publicly cancelled whatever Santa Monica was working on for years recently They aren't afraid to pull the plug on something
Has Sony been talking about TLG? Outside of when the question was posed to them, I haven't seen them mention it or show much for quite a while. We got a "We're still working on it" a while back. Even the author of the article admits that Sony has gone dark on the issue years ago...so how much more do they have to shut up?
I believe Scott Rhode and Shuhei Yoshida have both said pretty recently that its still in development. Within the last couple of months, I think. If it was cancelled, I really think they would either come right out and say "its cancelled" or dance around the questions by not commenting or saying they don't have any updates for us. They're not doing that tho. I have a theory that something happened during the development of that game, that basically forced them to start from scratch. They worked on other projects for a year or two before restarting development, by then they had received PS4 dev kits and decided to make it a PS4 title. Now they're waiting to unveil it at the right time. I hope...
Shuhei Yoshida was asked about it in an interview this year, I think it was on Gamepur back in Feb or March & he said the game's still in development & it's being re-engineered, which IMO sounds like it's being retooled for the PS4, so perhaps final dev kits are a must, along with a certain standard of API from the ICE team to make the best version of the game. If this game was truly not salvageable then it would have been canceled, like Sony Santa Monica's new IP which had 3 years of development was canceled, so it would seem that it's likely still on it's way. Outside of that interview earlier this year it's been the fans that have spoken about it.
I agree. In a way Sony has shut up about the Last Guardian. We get the odd hint it is still being worked on but Sony has never made a big song and dance about it.
@WooHoo Yeah, that's all I recall them saying about it in recent memory, just that it was still in development. As far as the reasons for the delay, I think it was stated that it was more ambitious than they could manage on the PS3. Eventually it got put on hold for the PS4. My recollection of that is rather vague though. Most of the articles I've seen about it were usually just random articles talking about it, not Sony, so didn't see why they would have to shut up or put up anything about it.
I agree.. Been waiting for this game since I got my ps1.
damn this is soo funny
I has been waiting to get this game since the PS2 days. but seriously they have to show Last guardian to win E3 :)
I don't really think Sony are the ones talking about it, its the fans and media.
It also hasn't been 8 years...It's been 6 at the most soooo, not sure why the title or article are claiming it's been over 8. The PS3 is barely 9 years old
Dunno - I'd say this title will never be released if it wasn't for Duke Nukem Forever and Final Fantasy XV actually releasing after even more time. It's not been quite 8 years though... Title was announced in 2009, and started development in like 2007. That's 7 years development and 5 years that we've known about it. Final Fantasy Versus (now XV) started development in 2006 or 2005, and we've known about that game for 8 years now
I'm not expecting the game to be released for a long time. However, I would like some form of information beyond the trailer and concept art we got years ago. Something, Sony. We just want something.
agree time to put up or shut up. this game has to be released this year or next summer at latest. we don't even know what the story is all about. but this game has no room i mean no room for error after all this time.
My thoughts exactly, with all the hype built up around this game that we know nothing about, they cannot afford to lay an egg with this one.
idk they could keep this game in the dark for a few more years. I mean just look how duke nukem forever, ffxv, and half-life3 turned out. granted duke actually came out, but other than that is has been like a decade for those other title. we've only know about TGL for like ~5years? shouldn't have to wait for a game this long, but just saying don't get your hopes up. but when these games do eventually release, it will be one happy day lol!
I think the heat to show games is on Sony a bit right now, KZSF was a good game but forgettable, and sorry but so was Infamous SS. They also can't keep throwing the Indie games at us either, while they're games and enjoyable, no one is going to say they are ok with just playing indie titles all year round. Also I think they've been a little TOO tight lipped about what's going on inside their first party studios, obviously they don't want to say too much but as of right now all we have to go off of to keep us excited is "greatness awaits". They have an impressive track record when it comes to first party titles, but that's not enough to excuse them for the lack of info we've received about their games, and to hear that neither GG or MM will be there is upsetting. Hopefully Sony Bend or SSM show up or i'll be disappointed if all I see is UC4, The Order, Driveclub and Project Beast. Honestly I don't really care to see Morpheus get stage time, just focus on games, games, games, cause that's all they need to do right now while they're enjoying a comfy lead in sales.
I would not worry about the games...It is Sony we are talking about here, which means incomingggggggggg and plentyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Be patient mate, you'll only have more joy and an empty wallet :)
Probably more likely to show up at TGS rather than E3, dev is Japanese
As long as it's for sure coming and I'll take it as that since there has been no confirmation of it being cancelled then I will continue to be excited for it!
I'll bet money they'll release it in December.
a game like is not cancelled there is no reason to cancel, it's obviously been moved to ps4 I hope it gets shown at e3 or tgs
