Microsoft just announced that it’ll hold a series of events in Japan to push the Xbox One in the archipelago of the rising sun.
Nice, I really hope they do better than last time.keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to hear more about the upcoming titles from japanese devs too. i really need my lost odysee, blinx and otogi fix. Hopefully MS can provide me with these and even more soon enough. Best of luck to Phil and his team. Hoping to see some great content.
Microsoft need more than luck mate. They need a miracle more than Oberyn needs a helmet
TOO SOON DAMMIT!!
Luck, miracles and good wishes...I wish them all of it.
"Microsoft Pushing Xbox One in Japan ..." Good luck with that ;)
Im going to laugh if Microsoft takes the japanese market. PS4 is weak in that country right now. Sony should think next time when they release a console in japan, after they release in the US. It would piss me off if microsoft release the X1 in Japan on November first, then release in February here. It is a japanese console that doesnt have many japanese games.
we all know damn well xbox will fail in all asian territories. they stick with import only.. lets be real here.. they'll stick with sony.
and asian love american products.
really? i don't see asians driving a damn ford or chevy lmao.
really? cuz i just visited korea and taiwan about a month ago and both countries ive seen quite a few fords and chevy's on the streets. i mean i seen it with my owns eyes. i dont know what else to say. as well as mcdonalds, burger king, kfc, popeyes, tgif, bennigans, outback steakhouse, iphones, apple computers, windows software, ipads, as well as all the major shopping brands like MK, coach, lacoste etc etc. i even saw costco there... asians eating costco pizza and drinking coke and pepsi. the movie theatres were packed with american movies. building 101 in taipei was advertising spiderman2. they even had a spiderman on the side of the building of 101. even their military are based off of US military. both countries buy american fighter jets and aircrafts. how much more american can these asians get?
Well, good luck with that.
Yeah good luck to them. When you look at the Japanese weekly charts you cant help but feel that the time of japan is over
Console sales have been down in Japan because they are waiting for the XB1.
Dude are you being serious right now, the answer is no bro, it's just because PS4 has no Japanese games out yet bro, get your logic right lol
your comment needs another "bro" at the end. It should read like this: "Dude are you being serious right now, the answer is no bro, it's just because PS4 has no Japanese games out yet bro, get your logic right bro, lol"
I agree with you with Truefan being a dudebro.
so if they are waiting on japanese games and xbox gives them the japanese games first. does that mean they buy xbox?
@truefan Lol. Dude you just cracked me up. I do wish them the best though.I really want to see MS invest heavily into nice japanese exclusives which will also be released in the west. Back to my E3 count down. 2days and a few hours to go. @sasuke Lol.I actually think truefan was joking.console sales have generally been on a decline in japan for a while now.also great comment by the way.I actually understood everything you said. Nice. @darth Lmao.. XD
No, no he was not joking. Look at his post history. He was completely serious...
You know damn well he was definitely not joking.
hahahahaha yeah thats why Anyway Great job from MS, you never know if don't you try
I bet the PS4 and the Wii U will outsell the Xbox One in Japan and I'm basing my prediction off the Xbox brands performance in that country. @christ Have you seen his comment history? Then you should know that he isn't joking with that comment. He is merely delusional like always.
You are some sort of super insider analysis guy Tidux, Shinobi, Listen to this guy
@truefan1 Dudebro, you just made me laugh so hard!! Actually, I have 3 girlfriends over and they're not even gamers like me, and they Lol'd hard too!!! Dang these Kids are funny LOOL
Haha.. He's just trying to stir up stuff. Dead last again.
Insert Fry Not sure if joking or serious pic.
Once they need new door stoppers in Japan the Xbox One will suffice.
You forgot to add /s at the end of your comment.
You say some pretty ridiculous s***, but i know there is no way you typed that out with a straight face.
Lmao! Nice trolling.
Im not sure if I should +bubble you for funny or -bubble you for trolling lol Seriously that was funny even tho I am sure you was serious :/
I gave u bubble for funny truefan. love ppl who crack me up.
This time is going to be a different story. I think Microsoft will find ally succeed in Japan. They have the advantage : games and features.
They hardly have any Japanese exclusives. What do they expect Japanese gamers to play? Ryse?
oh so you know about their exclusive lineup? Please tell us more.
They will get some JRPG's exclusives as Phil Spencer said and visual novels which didn't go well But tbh the Xbox 360 had some Japanese exclusives and well.............
I don't see any feature advantage for the Japanese market. The X1 is even more US centric than the 360.
Nope the Xbox one sucks. The Japanese do not want that garbage.
If the PS4 and the Wii U are struggling, I don't even understand why Microsoft even release the Xb1 in japan.
To get better support from Japanese studios. If they don't release in Japan they would get less Japanese games that also come out in the west.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think Microsoft are making a huge mistake. Again.
Any jrpgs mentioned..? I know it's alot of resources a alollocated to launch in Japan but like some have said.. If you want some of those Japanese titles to come to the us then they need a presence there. It is what it is. Probably cost the west 5 AAA exclusive or more when looking at the monetization value of releasing there.
Ima come laugh at this comments if the Xbox one actually does well in Japan. Everyone on this site just seems to want it to fail badly
Well I don't see why the Japanese will pull a 180 and start buying Xbox over Playstation and Nintendo. I don't know why people believe that the Xbox One will do better than those companies there. Its not about wanting it fail there its about having realistic expectations. But to tell you the truth sometimes these brands will surprise you like what Playstation is doing in the USA right now. I never thought the PS4 would outsell the Xbox One there.
Well the bar isn't very high. So if it sells one more than the 360, then it will do well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again Doomed to failure. I have seen the release of every MS console first hand in Japan and each time it has failed. MS consoles are considered a physical joke in Japan. What about it this time is going to change that? They know that their native console, the PS4, can outperform the xbone, is cheaper than the xbone, and has had a long head start. So no, here in Japan we do not see this console release to be any different than the last two. Trolling? No my good sir. I'm stating a fact and predicting the future based on those facts.
The only console success is gonna be 3DS and Vita.
Given that one of the primary reasons many Japanese gamers gave for not wanting the OG XBOX, and even the 360, was the physical size VS the lack of space in typical Japanese dwellings...I don't see them doing any better with the largest gaming console since the Philips CD-i.
"Great Thanksgiving"? WTF? Yeah, because the best way to market to Japanese gamers is to promote it alongside an AMERICAN holiday! **Facepalm** OK, so the event is in June...but I still dont get the reference to "Thanksgiving". In any case, despite trying to hype this boat anchor months before it releases in Japan, I don't think many Japanese consumers are going to buy it. Xbox is literally a JOKE in Japan. I don't see this changing any time soon.
Is good MS is continuing to try to get the Japanese market into the Xbox brand, but a lot of people know Xbox will fail again there. Japanese and America are complete opposites when it comes to the games and MS hasn't seem to realize that yet.
There is a thanksgiving day in Japan except it is called Labor Thanksgiving, the government closes, and the tradition is to give cards of thanks to postal delivery, street workers, etc. thanking them for their labor. It isn't a big feast holiday and it isn't associated with a big shopping day. Microsoft seems to be more and more out of touch with everything, not just video gaming. They had no choice but go through the motions of a Japan launch, just taking another odd turn getting there. It would have been better to make a big TGS splash with a launch but they probably need until November to be ready. E3 just a few days away, then Gamescom, then TGS. It is going to be absolutely brutal for Microsoft, having to keep stepping back, threatening, "You just wait!". Welp, been waiting over a year and it gets more underwhelming all the time.
