Still in the fight, this year's E3 has added significance for MS after last year's disastrous showing.
With the Xbox One not being anchored by the policies and mishaps of last year, the focus should now solely be on games. Last year, their showing of games was impressive but it was all eclipsed by the aforementioned problems. This year, they have done away with all that crap, so the industry can finally focus, quite rightly, on the games. So yes, MS can bounce back, as long as it delivers the goods.
I'm really hoping they knock it out of the park this year. I'd love to see some of the faith I've had in them rewarded. We'll find out soon enough :)
The only ppl Ms can bounce back against is their own self and image
you know i got a ps4 and its solid but i think right now, the x1 is beating it. ps4 has no games to play right now where ms at least has rise, forza, killer instinct, and dead rising. ps4 has killzone, infamous, and thats pretty much it. i know ms usually does well in the beginning then shits the bed where sony typically gets better and better which is why i went ps4 this gen but right now, i dont think sony is winning in anything but sales which is likely because of all the bad press ms got in the beginning not because it is the better system at the moment
I don't think it's really fair to say that the ps4 has no games... maybe it has no games YOU are interested in playing, but that is different. What if Forza, killer instinct, dead rising and Rise don't interest you? I have both systems and I spend more time playing on my ps4 then I do on my xb1. What do I play that I enjoy playing more then all those xb1 exclusives.. Warframe, Yes the Free to play repetitive RNG grind to hell Warframe! Both systems are in need of new games in my opinion but ps4 is not in a bad place because of it
i didnt say it was in a bad place, i just dont think its in a better position than x1 and i was speaking mostly of exclusives and not including little indie games, free to play games ( although tech i suppose KI is ), or multiplats because tech thats all i own on ps4 at the moment ( bound by flame which is bad, and rayman legends ). both need new games, i just think the x1 has a better selection at the moment at least to me. again though, im 100% certain that will change which is why i got the ps4 but i dont think MS needs to "bounce back" as they are doing fine they just need to get that bad rep out of peoples mind somehow and im not entirely sure how because it seems imprinted in peoples minds for some reason
You only mentioned 2 titles for the PS4, what about all the 3rd party multi platform games? which in most cases look and play better on the Playstation. Might sound a bit fanboyish, but I'm just stating a simple fact.
@Perjoss Might as well play those 3rd party games on PC, almost every household in the western world has one just get a decent graphics card. They games look better, play better on PC, and the games are cheaper and joypads and driving wheels/pedals are cheaper, im not beeing PC elitist, im just stating obvious fact.
@perjoss you obviously didnt read my second response and if i was a fan boy, why would i have gotten a ps4 lol im just stating facts.
If you really think Sony is unbeatable then you are in for a rude awakening.
I pictured you as Bad News Barrett, but you didn't say the line right!
@chrissx I definitely agree Yep its self image, public perception, negative first impression, identity crisis, etc. Xbox One's problem is beyond the technical level. Its has a cultural & social problem. A problem that can not be fixed by technical troubleshooting-like hardware (ESRAM, CPUGPU), & software (yeah I mean games, firmware updates, cloud computing, etc.) Its people to people related problem. That is what they need to fix their "backstabbing" image specially to many 360 owners like me and my friends. It took years of R&D, billions of dollars to develop the sinister DRM, no used games, always connected, always seeing & listening, console that is the Xbox One and like M$ themselves said Xbox One's direction can not be changed by a #flipovaswitch. And all this daily #flipswitching has done Xbox One even more harm than good to the machine. No damage control, back pedalling, eating crow, throwing millions at reputation managers etc can change their message. They actually make the situation much worse with each word that comes out from their mouth. M$ has brought this upon themselves-no one else. They really need to start with a clean slate. Patching Xbox One with Band Aid won't solve their problem.
bounce back from what? smh....
The PS4 and Wii U just outsold it in the US 3-to-1.
so I guess they should cancel their E3 show and just fold...
...no, they should just...bounce back :-)
That was one week and likely due to the fact people are waiting for the Xbox One to be released without the Kinect.
Slightly unrelated but your post reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watc... Turn down from what! *music and their videos these days lol* Anyway, come on, MS need to bounce back from the negative image that has plagued them and the X1 from the very beginning last year.
Turn down FOR what? Lol.. I agree.. people aren't understanding that MS current issue has nothing to do with the device games or services. Arguments can be made about power and resolution and the like but IMAGE is what they are battling now. Since reveal of X1 MS had been its own worst enemy. They are in damage control mode right now. Some may be fooled but many are still scrutinizing MS methods.
Drop the price to 299 on E3, stop with all the talking about the cloud, DX12, SDK, because it doesnt work. Never again show games working on PC and tell people they were running on the Xbox. Start working on the XBox 2, without ESRam, but with unified memory and a very strong GPU
In other words... take a billion dollar bath!?
Bounce back from what?
I think we might see this cloudgine game at e3 and this will be a huge megaton for Microsoft. Sony fans will than shut up for good. Microsoft has all the momentum going into E3, lot of the Sony studios are not going to be showing games off at E3. I can't see how Sony will win E3 personally.
How can you think something is a MEGATON without seeing what the product actually is. I only consider something a MEGATON after jaws drop. Never before. HYPE can kill!
No. World wide its over, US a little but most likely not till next gen.
I think MS can bounce back but its going to take more than just E3 2014. They have an uphill battle on their hands because of all the 180ing they've done. I know many will disagree with me but its the reality of it. I'm a hardcore 360 own and last year MS didn't show me the same respect that I showed them throwout the years. And I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I plan on purchasing an Xbox One but not until Fall/Holiday 2015 when Halo 5 releases, and that's just the reality of it.
Sony is already at over 8 million consoles sold to end users. MS hasn't even hit 5 million yet. Do you really think that they can make up a 3-4 million unit deficit this year? Not likely.
I would not be surprised if MICROSOFT talks about their tv shows and the other functions the XBOX1 can do besides play games! They will talk about games, but remember a lot of MAINSTREAM PRESS will be there and they would rather here about APS like HBO2GO, YOUTUBE,ECT.. and other things the XBOX1 can do.
Been saying that to too many people recently. MS has partnerships with many Media companies. I'm sure they'll bring up some of those features at E3 alongside games.
