Oculus VR hires one of the "pioneers" of Valve's Steam platform.
Good luck to you!
Another one. It's getting interesting.
The power of money.
That's great. The Oculus Rift is already delivering the good with dk2, so I'm not worried about the consumer model meeting, or even exceeding expectations. As for software, it sounds like Oculus themselves are creating content, as well as securing exclusives for the device. But what we have not heard anything about is a dedicated client for VR. Can't wait to see what they come up with.
Wow, another marquee Valve employee jumping ship. Its starting to become a curiosity as to what is causing them to all leave Valve. Is there reason to start worrying?
Reason to worry about Valve? Doubtful. They're making money hand-over-fist. Everyone has been saying it: developers, consumers, Youtuber's grandmothers... VR is exciting. And seeing people like this, who has a successful career, heading to Oculus is very encouraging.
Valve was serious about VR, but after looking into the Rift, decided to take on a supporting role rather than make their own device. Its VERY expensive to develop hardware, especially a risky device like an HMD. There's nothing to worry about. Valve is structured differently than most companies.
