Nick of Gamer Assault Weekly reviews Gaijin Entertainment's new WWII combat MMO, War Thunder on PS4.
This really looks like a lot of fun. I've always loved WWII flight simulators like Blazing Angels on PS3. Might have to give this a shot.
I've been playing this for a year now and it's an amazing game in my opinion. The game's engine is rock-solid and has beautiful visuals. The game itself can go from very accessible to extremely complex depending on if you choose Arcade battles or Simulator. I'd say it's the best flight game out there at the moment, and best tank game too. Lots of content to unlock and the business model is very fair. You can definitely play this without ever spending money on it. I myself have only ever spent 50$ on it, which is less than a retail game's price. I definitely recommend it.
It's the most fun I've had playing a flying game since Crimson Skies.
I always laugh at these reviews. How can you review a game that's constantly evolving? In any case, been playing this since it launched on the European market and it is awesome. If you love flight combat games, you're going to love this one. There is so much to do, so many aircraft to fly and upgrade, so many campaigns to unlock and conquer. And, the beauty of it all is... When you think you've done everything, the next update hits and you have that much more to do... All over again. I would love to see a force-feedback flight stick come out for the PS4, specifically for this game. It would make it that much more enjoyable. It's hard to believe that this game is free. It looks phenomenal and plays as good as any flight combat game that came before it. A total blast for anybody who loves the genre.
The reviews can be solid at times, yet when those patches and updates come out that overhaul the game then a re-review is needed. But very few sites do that.
I'm always skeptical about free-to-play, but this game does look interesting.
You can play it totally for free and still enjoy it, the economy is very fair and the game at all tiers is good fun and you never feel like you need to get anywhere because you have fun with what you have got.
This game looks awesome, but I'm also a bit weary about free to play. I'd probably stick to the ground combat because I am terrible at flying.
The arcade mode makes flying accessible to everybody, my dad could play it lol so it says everything. The economy is very fair and you can play it totally for free and the best part is every tier is fun, you don't have to have a jet to have fun in this game. Its nowhere near as bad as World of Tanks where you are constantly trying to get to the good stuff, this is good stuff throughout.
I played it on PC, so I'm curious to see how it translates over to a console. There are so many features in the game, it is hard to believe they will be able to bring everything over.
is this STILL not available on the NA store?
It was released yesterday on the NA Store actually :)
