Hopefully Sony allows PS4 players to use them soon.

Yes, great news indeed, I'm only close to 70%, but no worries the rest of this gen, I got 4TB incoming!

i want to be able to connect my external hard drive to my ps4 and be able to watch videos and stuff. Why this feature wasn't available at launch is beyond me when it was available on ps3

hopefully something soon

Man the MSFT XB1 update team has been working hard cranking out these new updates and features. Their work is greatly appreciated, it definitely makes the console a joy to own.

I can't believe how fast Forza loads now, so very happy! If you own Forza move it over to an external drive, preferably an SSD drive.

Apps load faster from external too! Can't figure out how to move the built in apps though.

Perfect timing! my xbox one hard drive is literally at 95%. It says I have approximately 21GB free. Looking into purchasing a USB3.0 4TB Western Digital My Book external, but I can't find the RPMs on the spec sheet.

My plan is to move all of my installs over to the external, but I'll leave all DEMO's that I download on the internal hard drive.

Majority of my XB1 games are digital downloads, with the exception of a few titles. By being digital releases, I can travel with my external and have access to my entire library on the go. Without the need to travel with game disc. I won't be concerned with playing demos when I travel, so those titles can remain on the consoles internal hdd.

Appreciate the info!

as a standard rule
desktop harddrives are 7200 and portables are 5400.
if a portable 2.5 is 7200 it will be clear to see as it would be a selling point
