Thanks to the bevy of delays, there's a very good chance that this year's Assassin's Creed will land top honors. Or will Far Cry 4 or Inquisition?
Not even close. Dark Souls II or a first party Nintendo title will get the best reviews.
This article is ridiculous. How about discussing the qualities of the game currently released (inFAMOUS, Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Mario Kart 8, Dark Souls II) instead of declaring a game we know almost absolutely nothing about as GOTY?
I doubt it. Dark Souls 2 finally can win.
Batman Arkham Knight will probably win. UbiSoft has the tendency to screw up something in their games that prevents them from being GOTY.
It got delayed to next year buddy D: Sorry.
Too bad, it had GOTY written all over it. Anyway my vote is for Dragon Age: Inquisition now. BioWare might just have a surprise masterpiece on their hands.
When was an Assassin's Creed Game ever Game of the Year? Seriously this is premature and hardly even feasible! Game of the Year may very well be The Last of Us Remastered, or Destiny.
If Uncharted 2 didn't come out the same year as Assassin's Creed 2, I definitely believe it would have won some GOTY awards. But you just can't compete with the masterpiece of UC2 no matter what you are. AC2 was really outstanding though, I don't think anyone would have been upset at that winning a GOTY from someone. It probably did somewhere.
ACII won 14 GOTY awards that year. http://gotypicks.blogspot.c... There was some very stiff competition.
Exactly. Quite a few Assassin's Creed games have scored very well and were possible GOTY options, but when the competition is as good as Uncharted 2, for example, it's not so easy to win. But this year there isn't nearly as much competition since so many games got pushed back to 2015. I definitely see Assassin's Creed Unity being in the running for GOTY.
AC2 was my game of the year
Destiny is on track for that one. Other possibilities: FarCry 4 Dark Souls II Seriously. That's about it. It's depressing to see this, too. Unless racing games suddenly have a chance at GOTY. It's highly doubtful though.
Dragon Age, Evolve, The division, Alien: isolation, ... Who knows how good any of these are gonna be. Let's not start guessing halfway through the year.
You say that Dragon Age and The Division will be out this year. Evolve, yes. I forgot about Evolve. Turtle Rock is phenomenal. I see some GOTY awards heading their way for that one.
Assassin creed 2.3 for game of the year ? Highly doubt it
How is it Assassin's Creed 2.3? Even AC4 was deserving of being a proper "4" in the series. We don't know much about AC Unity, but if it has insane crowd tech as was implied in the teaser trailer then it could be very impressive indeed.
I doubt it, Black Flag came out last year and it was the best AC title in a while, so i expect a couple average AC games next, plus Dark Souls II has like a 90 Metacritic average, plus you got some Nintendo heavy hitters, and we don't know what The Evil Within is gonna score like. Not to mention that if they'd count TLOU remastered as a new game, it'll probably win by default lol
By the looks, Dragon Age for me. Looks S T U N N I N G !
