Mario Kart 8: Review - is this finally enough to justify your Wii-U purchase? | T4Mag

Wii U owners can finally dust off their machines as the long wait has finally come to a halt with the release of another first party game for the system. Was the long wait fruitful? Will Mario Kart 8 save the Wii U console? If you’re familiar with any Mario Kart, you’ll be delighted to know that Mario Kart 8 is still using the same formula as a racing kart game using items to attack other players with, while navigating your way through a course with many jumps, falls, obstacles and boosters.

Personally for me this game, the promotion and then Tesco's £199 bundle were all factors in me finally justifying the purchase.

Can't be happier with the decision, actually gets my girlfriend and even family members to play

true say, there is something about mario kart that gets the entire family involved.

It was only "a long wait" for the people too stupid to look beyond the first party stuff and give some new games a chance.
I still play The Wonderful 101 regularly, alongside Deus Ex and plenty of others.

That said, Mario Kart 8 is a blast to play.
It's a crying shame that my wifi signal sucks so badly, though...

They sell a wired add on so you don't have to use wifi.I plan on getting one soon.Nintendo already said it will be needed for Smash Bro's if you don't want lag. When I checked Amazon they were only like $10.Or maybe you just need a better gaming router?

Mario Kart is only a 5 out of 10 experience

The rest of the world disagrees with you.

I love how you've carefully framed your argument and backed it up with references and intelligent observation while simultaneously proving your scale by contrasting it with its contemporaries. It's practically unassailable.

At least, that's what I would've said if you'd done any of that and said anything of value here.

Not without the battle mode. ={

choujij1288d ago (Edited 1288d ago )

But it has battle mode. Try playing the game next time.

Lord_Sloth1288d ago

I was told it didn't so I didn't get it. I can't play what I haven't purchased but if battle mode is in then I shall pick it up.

DrRobotnik1288d ago

The battle mode on this isn't up to par like the previous versions. I still say MK64 had the definitive battle mode.

The Battle mode is actually really fun. It's probably the 2nd best Battle Mode behind Block Fort on Mario Kart 64.
