GR-UK writes: "Watch Dogs is the latest example of a botched release on PC. It's the most recent game that launched with huge anticipation and crumpled under a stampede of excitement. It wasn't broken, but was unplayable, and left huge numbers of customers disappointed after one of the most anticipated launches of the year. It wasn't bad coding, it wasn't incompatible with a huge number systems, it came down to one thing and one thing alone, DRM."
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
If you are looking for a bargain, check out the huge discounts across the entire WatchDogs series on Steam.

It's Ubisoft, what do PC gamers expect? They have a long history of botched PC releases and don't know why anyone would expect this one to be any different.
If have not heard a single complaint about DRM in the PC release. People are too busy complaining about hitching and framerate problems.
I'm glad the pirates are out there. More than once I have purchased a PC game only to recieve a product I can't play. Sometimes it is DRM problems, other times the game is broken due to code issues. In those cases I usually can go torrent a working copy of the game without DRM.
I bought Fallout 3 and couldn't play it for days after release. Within 4 days an unofficial patch was released onto pirate bay and it actually fixed all my issues with the game. Ran really smooth after that. 6 months later I ended up re-installing the game and using the official patch, which again broke the game and made it unplayable.
Sometimes the hacks are better than the product, and without pirates and hackers, I would have not been able to play games I paid for.
Yeah I'm pretty pissed. I'm seriously thinking about contacting ubi soft support and demanding a refund and just downloading a damn torrent. All this always online DRM crap is just in the way.
