Top 10 Couch Multiplayer Co-Op Games

GameDynamo - "Many gamers will always cherish the memories of playing their favorite game with their best friend or sibling right next to them, sharing in the triumphs, failures, and most importantly... the fun! This is my list of the top 10 couch co-op games to date. " (Borderlands 2, Contra, Diablo III, Gears of War 3, Left 4 Dead, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Portal, PS3, Retro, Rock Band 2, Wii, Xbox 360)

Gears of War (especially # 3) had so much going for it...the least of which was the single player campaign. I know Gears of late had become a punchline of sorts, but the multiplayer was phenomenal.

I feel that the Gears versus mp is some of the best of this past gen. But the co-op was so diverse and plentiful.
The horde mode was insanely great - would play that for hours with friends. They also had the camaign arcade mode, beast mode. Heck, even Overrun from Judgment was fantastic (maybe the only thing from Judgment that was good).

I really am pulling for Black Tusk and Rod to nail the next gen Gears....it can't come soon enough!!!

Judgment is a wasteland. A couple hundred in Deathmatch and a couple hundred in Over run. That is it. So I hope that is an indication to Rod and the guys at black tusk to go back to the Gears 1 and 2 Roots and make a MP that is a little more hardcore. Single player can be a casual rollercoaster ride. Then put in Horde and beast for some casual co-op. But I want the competitve to have a learning curve and be Tactical. Some sequels are a punchline of sorts. You're right. (Gears, COD) But than others like Assassins Creed and Uncharted people can't wait for the sequels. I don't get it. Gears shit's on all of them when it comes to MP

They recently did their first podcast (or 'Rodcast' for Rod Fergusson) for the Black Tusk Gears game. They discuss MP as well as the lessons learned from Judgment.

It's worth a listen/view. It can be found on YouTube or the Black Tusk Gears forums.

I liked the list. I've played and enjoyed all the games. I'm especially enjoying Borderlands2 with my daughter at the moment.
