This is great news, Im no where near done with BF4 yet.
Hardline seems to be a different kind of game so I didn't expect it to replace BF4. I wonder why they even called it Battlefield?

Same reason as COD and Assassin's Creed etc, as they are a universally recognized franchises which are guaranteed sales success regardless of quality.

TBH, I wish Battlefield would just go back and focus on a pure 'Conquest' experience again, instead of so many different modes and classes and perks and whatever.

I prefer the 'simpler' gameplay we had in Battlefield 2 and 1943, where you had a few well-balanced classes, and just great maps, and everyone went in on the same level and just had fun.

I hope they'll come out with a 1944 (15-20 bucks), but this time with actual support, so every 3-4 months a new Conquest map-pack, so everyone will stick with it and will be playing it for years to come.

Battlefield 3 and 4 quickly veered into a game that was divided by 'haves' and 'have nots', of which many of the 'have nots' who didn't get the DLC, pretty much dropped the game completely, so you're left with a community that's split and then dries up...

To late for a pure conquest experience Battlefield. The many new players that joined the Battlefield community during BC1/2 and BF3 want Rush/TDM/DOM aswell.

But I agree with you, Conquest is the real Battlefield.

[head of DICE Karl Magnus Troedsson assured fans that the announcement of Hardline doesn’t mean DICE is ‘done’ with Battlefield 4.] “We are committed to slowly and eventually giving you the best BF4 experience possible, as you know we've made countless mind-boggling mistakes over the years.” Troedsson says. "We've even hired sports psychologists to help our characters jump over small objects even better."

Continued Support: “There are dedicated (Karl laughs) BF4 teams in Stockholm, Uppsala and LA that will continue to address any issues that will occur. But MORE importantly will also look to make significant MONEY from additions to the game, like paying for battlepacks and bullets.”

“We are also working on a major update to the Battlefield 4 netcode, we've been making BF games for over 12 years and we're still too greedy to hire someone smarter to fix it for us. You'll take what we give you, it's not like we have any competition (he laughs again as he strokes his pet sloth)."

By the time they fix this, everyone would have moved on.

Majin-vegeta789d ago

Not really. The first part of the CTE patch is already in certification. If what I've been told.It should release soon and will make the game a lot smoother.

Activemessiah789d ago

You always believe what you're told?

famoussasjohn789d ago

From what I have played and what DICE has said, the CTE updates should begin getting impletented shortly. The CTE program has already had 5 updates bring more and more fixes and improvements into the game and it's only been out about 3 weeks so far. While the core game is rather the same, the fixes and wonky getting shot around corner issue seems to have been improved, as well as kill trading isn't happening as much anymore.

For info on current certification patch that was submitted a few days ago.

"Release date in May but not in June. Currently there is the patch in certification with Sony and Microsoft."

"We are committed to giving you the best BF4 experience possible."

As long as it doesn't stop them from posting pointless/infuriating Tweets of them not doing this.

"We are also working on a major update to the Battlefield 4 netcode.”

The update DICE insisted wasn't necessary because 'netcode' was just a word we made up.

"Other features rolled out recently such as Squad Join, Rent-A-Server and Loadout Presets, many which have been directly requested by you in the community."

Yeah. We spent five months telling DICE they were needed until their "ssshhh community, we know what we're doing" mentality broke and they realised we were, in fact, right.

I'm a bit "too little too late" with DICE now. They shipped a game that wasn't finished and spent months dispelling gamers' opinions and complaints, and now - almost seven months later - they're backtracking heavily. I will be very surprised if there are many players left by the time the BF4 experience is at its best...

Totally agree.DICE burnt many bridges with the fans.Lost faith in them months ago.Shame.
