[IGM] Republique - Hacking into an Episodic, iOS Dystopia

IGM's review of Camouflaj's third-person iOS stealth adventure, Republique.

'Even if République wasn’t developed by Camouflaj, consisting of a team of industry veterans known for F.E.A.R, Halo 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 – which you already know, having most definitely read my article on the release of Episode Two - it would be an interesting one to watch. The game is the brainchild of Ryan Payton, a former producer at Kojima Productions and the creative director of Halo 5. The game’s seen a lot of success in its own right, consistently sitting near the top of the iTunes app charts and raising five hundred and fifty five thousand dollars on Kickstarter.

I sat down with Ryan to discuss his career in games, the development of République, and what’s next for the game. We also talked about surveillance states, movies, and the global future of video games.

He's a very interesting man. Not many people would leave MGS and Halo production to make an iOS game.
