GTAV seems way more alive than watchdogs imo.

Th4Freak3620d ago

How dare you to say such blasphemy, @Abriel's wrath will fall upon you.

Army_of_Darkness3620d ago

I think its safe to say that the only reason people are remotely interested in watch dogs is mainly to find out how much of a downgrade it took and what the differences are between the consoles. Other than that, I don't find this game that interesting...

Agent20093620d ago

Hmm, maybe because Watch_Dogs has an interesting idea for the gameplay?

Th4Freak3620d ago

@Army_of_Darkness I'm actually interested in the game but I won't condone Ubisoft's practices nor their attitude.

I'd have no problem at all with WD if Ubisoft apologized to us the ones who feed them and the same ones who apparently they think are idiots.

I'm just voting with my wallet, i'll buy the game when its cheaper.

mikeslemonade3620d ago

Well this isn't showing me anything I didn't know already. The last gen version of GTA5 vs the LAST GEN version of Watchdogs shows us GTA5 last gen is better looking and better playing.

Of course the developer that made GTA5 is better than the developer that made WatchDogs. However show me a current gen version Watchdogs in comparison and it will look better and play better.

UltraNova3620d ago

You can compare old gen Gta v with WD all you like, I'll wait for GTA V's remastered edition on ps4 and compare it with the ps4 version of WD.

Then and only then I will be able to determine how next gen WD looks.

Not by a long shot. And i own both (since today afternoon).

The reactions are more natural in WD. In GTA you just show a gun and everybody in a X meter radius begins screaming and runnig, independently of actually seeing me.

That and the overall denisty....

I'm pretty satisfied with WD at the moment.

Sci0n3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

it was pretty sick how in the wd vid the lady was pleading with aiden when he pulled a gun on her. That was a very realistic action how she was scared to try to run right away so she sort have froze and begged for her life. If someone pulls a gun on you point blank your first reaction may not be to run immediately like a mindless dog, instead you may be in shock and would probably beg for your life.

Clown_Syndr0me3619d ago

Watch Dogs pedestrians are far more natural, they make the world feel real, living and breathing.

GTA and Watch Dogs are nothing alike IMO anyway.

starchild3620d ago

How so? GTA5 is an incredible achievement on last gen consoles, but having played both games I find Watch Dogs world to be more alive. More variety in the pedestrians activities and behaviors, trees and other plant life is always blowing in the wind, the traffic moves more realistically. GTA5 isn't far behind in this area and that is a huge testement to how far advanced it was for a last gen game.

In terms of graphics, Watch Dogs wipes the floor with GTA5, with better textures, much higher geometric detail, better LODs, less pop-in, better character models, much better looking foliage, physics driven animated foliage, vastly better shaders, specularity and real-time reflections...in basically every area there is.

maximus19853620d ago

you cant swim, cant fly jets, cant pick up hookers, cant rob stores, cant sky dive

Muffins12233620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Starchild...the way the npcs react in watch dogs to that gun that KonsoruMasuta pointed out is actually really lame and he is right. With gta 5,the gun is held up, victim screams and runs while the one right by him does the same but the other thats are 5 or more feet away still react to it but they dont react like the ones right by the gunman, they run but they just dont have the same animations right when pulled out the gun the other two had. Now lets go to watch dogs, she says oh my god two times and then has she runs like a slow idiot none of the npcs freak out even though some of em already saw 2 running past them saying stuff like "oh no" or the classic "oh my god" that the fat asian lady enjoys to say. They just walk causally like nothing is happening.

Though the NPCS DID HAVE BETTER ANIMATIIONS in watch dogs, that does not mean they reacted well. In your comment you just talked about the nice animations 2 of npcs had in watch dogs but that still does not change the fact that other npcs fail to react efficiently to it like gta 5 did and it just looks retarded when you see 5 or so of them walking by a street right by you even though they hear screaming or see 1 or 3 people run past them, they still walk casually like the dipshit's they are.

R00bot3620d ago

GTA 5 did wonders with last gen technology. It's doing well to even be compared to Watch_Dogs on next gen consoles.
I feel like there was more effort put into the main characters in GTA, while Watch_Dogs has much better looking NPC's.
Same for the animations, the main character animations in GTA 5 were really nice, but the NPC animations don't do as well compared to Watch_Dogs.

As for foliage, Watch_Dogs is a clear winner.

I feel like this video really needed to show Watch_Dogs when it was raining, because that's when it looks the most visually stunning.

KonsoruMasuta3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Exactly how I felt.

Watchdogs has better foliage, better NPC faces, better clothing textures, and a higher NPC density.

However, I have to say that the NPC reactions to the stickup was pretty lame. I felt GTAV was more realistic in that aspect. She started running, then she suddenly stopped and turned back towards him, something most people in that situation would not do.

starchild3620d ago

Actually, people in those situations don't all just automatically start running. When people feel their lives are at stake they aren't going to automatically run and get shot in the back of the head. They would only do that if they felt it were the safer thing to do. In real life situations like this people often beg for mercy from the assailant or try to reason with them.

Watch Dogs actually has the more realistic reaction, instead of everybody within a certain distance just running away I have seen a variety of different reactions and behaviors depending on other factors.

KonsoruMasuta3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Star child, but she didn't just beg. She actually started running, stopped for no reason, then turn back around to talk to him. That's not realistic.

He didn't tell her to freeze, he didn't tell her to stop, she just stopped for no reason.

Nobody would do that in this situation.

R00bot3620d ago

She stopped when he aimed back at her. The cursor had drifted off her and she thought she was safe to run away, but when he aimed at her again she changed her mind and begged again. I'd stop running if someone aimed a gun at me, too.

Derpmode1233620d ago

the cursor drifted on her when she was running, unless she has eyes on the back of her head I don't see why she stopped.Stop defending the bad AI in Watchdogs, its a fail on ubisoft's part. Also in the video, the holdup in Gta V, his cursor wasn't on the lady so that's why she started running.

Even in the old Gta's they raised their hands when someone aimed for the head,I remember doing that in Sanandreas its not diversity.

Watchdogs doesn't has a realistic reaction at all and neither does GTA but GTA has a better AI than Watch Dogs.

You have not been in situations like these irl,so unless you have please justify. Both games have faulty AI and functions e.g irl if someone takes a gun out and points at you,if he says something like "give me your money and stuff" then you do as he says but if he doesn't he could be a "mass murderer or some assassin who has come to kill you",you act on instinct there and don't stand there, you run or take down the guy or beg for your life.Neither games add all these real life reaction ig and the only time in both of these games when it gets close to this is when there is a small side mission in Gta when inside a backalley someone is getting robbed and he's begging for his/her life and not doing anything or in the Watchdogs sidemissions when some dudes is asking for money and stuff but still, that's when they have a more realistic approach to a rl reaction.

Other than that both AIs are just flawed with Gta feeling like a more lively world even though WD has more pedestrians.I'm also used to Gta V's driving not so much to Gta IV's though, and Watchdogs seems like it has the driving mechanics of a ps2 era,it is supposed to have a realistic approach to driving so stop comparing it to Sleeping Dogs which was supposed to be True Crime i.e which never had a realistic approach in terms of driving and AI and all that stuff...

R00bot3619d ago

I wasn't justifying it in any way. I was merely giving the reason as to why the woman stopped running.

joeymp3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

I like how they conveniently left out these details that GTA IV does better than Watch Dogs. http://youtu.be/JGRsrFdwb2c

objdadon3620d ago

Yeah but if u made a video of things watchdogs does better than gta 4 or 5 there's too many to count! I'm sure gta 6 will blow it out the water but right now there's no comparison.

joeymp3620d ago

I guess it just doesn't make sense that a game that was touted for it's attention to detail (how many times did they highlight things like trash blowing in the wind?!) is missing simple graphical things that are in GTA IV from 6 years ago.

windblowsagain3620d ago

In the above vid, the gta5 player and npc's don't have shadows at night. In wd they do.

I prefer watchdogs.

GearSkiN3620d ago

hold on watchdog let me throw up real quick.

Pintheshadows3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

GTA has better ambient sound.

And I laughed at pervert Aiden.

Imalwaysright3620d ago

It just goes to show how important sound is to help us immerse in the game.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6921h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos20h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius8h ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8518h ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius8h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
