Watch_Dogs Graphics on next gen consoles will be the same as high settings on PC

Well 789p doesn't really help the graphics if you're playing on a 60" full 1080p display. I would rather have full native resolution on a large display than slightly upgraded smoke or other effects. I've always liked that about PC gaming. At least they have a choice. Choosing how important the resolution is depends on the display.

Well semi-correct. I'll be playing at 2560x1440 at 96fps on my PC. I guess there is Ultra too.

Love my PS4 but I hate articles that try and make the playing ground seem more even than it really is. It will look damn good on consoles regardless. No need to try and make it seem like there is no need for a multiple thousand dollar PC if your in to that kind of thing.

There is still the Ultra settings on PC. Tomb Raider ran close to Ultra settings on PS4 with unlocked frame rate but I guess we can chalk this one up as a cross-gen game limitation.

My biggest problem is the AA problems low resolutions brings when upscaled. 900p is not that bad but 796p to 1080p is a lot of scaling.

It runs "high" settings at 900p and this creative director will say a lot of BS to get you to buy the console version if you have a console. Meanwhile we on pc can enjoy ultra settings and personally I will be playing it at 4K with my new 4K samsung monitor, also we have HBAO plus, tessellation, Physx, TXAA aliasing, 60fps and more included with ultra settings so don't say it will be close, even the nvidia trailer with direct gameplay of watch dogs running on pc you can see how much better it looks.

For the record I play on both PC, consoles, and even handhelds. I've been pc gaming since the 90's and started gaming in general with the NES and I own almost every console from the NES to now except for the xbox one. Nothing in my post was about "pc superiority" or anything like that. All I was doing was pointing out the hypocrisy I've been seeing as of late with console fanboys and graphics/ resolution gate bullshit. They make constant claims about how their console has this awesome power, how it will run every game at 1080p/60fps etc etc.... but when it turns out to not be the case they go berserk and start damage controlling like crazy and then start contradicting themselves by pretending that they never cared for graphics in the first place when they actually did. All the PC side does is just expose them for that. I do not expect my ps4 to be as powerful as my PC, same with the wiiu and xbox one but you gotta admit it is kinda pathetic how these consoles seem to have trouble running games on settings that came out in 2004. I used to be like you, i had top of the range pc hardware.. The problem is, i boasted about it and i spent more time caring about resolutions and frame rates than playing and enjoying the actual games.
I ended up selling it off and bought a Ps3, sure the image quality looked shit most of the time and the frame rates were usually chunky but i started to at least enjoy the games again like the ps1, sega, ps2 days.
Since buying the Ps4.. Its only gotten better. Stable frame rates and no game i've played has been less than 900p. I couldn't give two shits about other peoples pc's, no one certainly gives a shit about yours "future 2015."

You'd probably have to be running quad sli/crossfire 780ti's/r9 290x's with everything else top end and even at that I still have doubts you could even get a stable 30 fps on 4k ultra settings.

2 x 780ti evga classifieds plus a i7 4930k @ 4.6ghz might do it if you turn anti aliasing off. 3gb memory per card might prove to be the bottle neck tho that's where a Titan with 6 gb of ram comes into play or a Titan z with 10gb of ram lol if you're feeling rich . But I doubt it would be solid 60 FPS unless you had three titans but who knows I heard turning anti aliasing off adds a lot of performance.

Question I have is will there be an 60 FPS cap cause if there is I'm not getting this game. Every ubisoft game I've bought with baked in vsync runs like crap and messes with my gsync monitor. No pc game should have an FPS cap unless it's a lazy console port. Some of us actually want to utilize are dual 780ti classys and 144hz monitors. Watchdogs better more like splinter cell blacklist than assassins creed black flag.

Amen to that. I don't think it's a lot to ask. Ubisoft clearly has talented people developing for PC and the last Splinter Cell is an example of that. I played that game back when it came out on a i5 3570k / 660 Ti PC and if I didn't lock the framerate at 60, it would get into the early 100's. It gave me hope for Black Flag but- well you know how that turned out. If this game is well optimized then a single 780 Ti should blast @ 1440p with no problems.

Hey I have a 670 with 4770 i7 and 8 GB of ram...should be able to run it okay right???...or should I go with the ps4/xbone version just in case...good thing I have options

Well the PC version will cost just over half the price of a Ps4 version.

And those spec are way higher than any console. You should get 1080p / 60fps at v high.

It will run at a better detail, res and framerate than the console so why choose the gimped port.

Hold on no one has tested or benchmarked watch_dogs PC yet, I'm pretty sure a single GTX 670 will not be enough to maintain 60fps at Ultra settings 1080p, 30fps yes but 60fps no, but that's not to say it won't out perform the consoles that's a given.

Well said! At first, some "Console" gamers claim that the naked eye can't detect between 30 and 60fps, so they don't care. Then not long ago, I saw gamers getting disappointed of the game not getting 60fps on PS4, i thought the naked eye can't see it?

Now they claim that there won't be much difference with High and Ultra..and yes..that's because "Console" Gamers naked eyes cant see the difference. They always sits far apart from the TV and they won't know what to look for between graphic details differences.

Only a long time PC Gamer or those who study developing graphic softwares and technology will understanding what to look out for, and why fps matters..If it doesn't matter, They is no need to have an Ultra settings and 60fps! LOL!

Wow, people. Isn't pretty obvious that a majority of console owners has poor or limited knowledge of tech. So i don't understand u people braging abt pcs and ur setups. And most of the time u r probably putting people off from even thinking abt trying to get a gaming pc with your crap abt having gtx 690 or 7950 to max out games. I can list the adv. and other stuff abt pcs but can't bother, if they want they will research abt it themselves. But it would be good if people cock up and give it a rest for a while. Would really like to see a comparison between the two. I have a ps4, xb1 and a pretty good pc(i7 4770 3.4ghz 16gb ram gtx 770 4gb). But I have no friends with decent computers, so it's either pc and no multiplayer or xb1 with five people I know personally to play with. I wanna see how much better ultra is too see if its enough to forego multiplayer.

Medium settings was most likely the rumoured 1080p 60fps build, after the downgrade cries I'm sure they opted for higher settings with lower res + FPS...

It probably will. We're early in the "next gen" lifespan so many of these games will look nearly as good as pc counterparts. The real fun happens 3-6 years down the line when we see what these systems can really do. I'm excited for both the ps4 and xbox one, especially since they share the same architecture and seem easier to program. As for me, I'll sit on my computer until the 880 gtx comes out.
