You do understand those are not nearly the same thing right? That page was a mistake by sony that bragged about the game being 1080p/60 fps. In fact they afterwards silently removed it. This is simply a listing of the video output. ALL PS4 games have a video output in 1080p, because the console upscales every game to 1080p regardless of the native resolution. Exactly the same wording can be found on the listings for Battlefield 4 or Watch_Dogs, that have 900p native rez. That was news. This isn't.
Destiny will be amazing on the PS4. I hope the player count is increased though.

The videos I've seen of Destiny made it look so much like Halo. It just makes you wonder why they insisted on moving on from developing Halo games, only to develop a halo game with a different name. The stuff I watched looked a bit more dreary than Master Chief's world, until they got oustide to see the skyline. Then it screamed "BUNGIE!" at my eyes.
Well the good news is that we have already seen this game running on console, and no matter what the final resolution is, it looks great, and it's another one of my "must haves" this year. It is funny the way they are wording it though "output", most likely seems that it will be 900 upscaled, but time will tell...either way like I said it looks awesome. The part I found MOST strange however is saying "1080p 'Native' display" I have never heard anyone use that phrase before, it's almost like they are purposely playing with the "key words" for marketing purposes. Again, I'm so ready for this game...it's gonna be awesome. Now let's see if all the same people that ripped TF for being 6 vs 6 will stick to their guns and rip this game a new one for being capped at 12? In my personal opinion for TF 6v6 is the perfect number and based on what I've seen of this game it looks like it'll be the same. It's probably a choice more than a limitation.

I read it but I hope it's more players. Only 12 players would be disheartening to me if Destiny has competitive multiplayer. More than 12 would be appealing. At least 16.

Secondly you dont even know the correct definition of MMO. Destiny is definitely not a MMO althou they have certain features in place that makes it looks as if it is one. I bet we won't see people complaining about this, yet they complained about the player count in Titanfall... Destiny looks amazing anyway. Definitely getting it day 1. Might get the CE if it gets announced.
Titanfall is all action no need go any higher than 8vs8, Respawn preferred 6vs6 and there small maps mostly. If they player count was any higher in Titanfall it would not play well at all. The problem this generation Sony is holding back the x box 1 Every third party game developer, either has to provide their own dedicated servers, for games, or don't use them at all. X box fans will have to deal with player hosting because Sony can't provide them.
So is the why Battlefield on PS4 has 64 players, or Killzone Shadow Fall supports 24 players, or why Ghost supports 18 players on PS4 because Sony's network is holding back XBO? Last I remember, the PS3 had games with 32, 40, 60, 128, and a whopping 250 players online simultaneously! They aren't holding anyone back, Developers choose what's the best for their games. If I want to play with games with player counts of over 1000 players I have PlanetSide 2 for that which is coming out for PS4. Tell me knws why doesn't the Xbox One have any multiplayer games with such massive player counts? This is why I fail to see why PSN is holding XBL back.
The thing is Destiny can have up to 50+ people in the world in public events ( as said by deej) without any technical problems, this is most likely just for balancing purposes that limit is their for our enjoyment. Same for Titanfall

I doubt people would complain about that, but that's not the discussion. They are talking about 12 people in all in the same match. Though I believe 12 vs 12 would still be too low. At least aim for 32 vs 32. Even that number is low if this is supposed to be an MMO.
Does this mean that there will be a competitive PvP mode (in a limited area, just like any other MP FPS) with 12 players max....or is it saying each free-roam server will be 12 players max? I'm confused. But i really hope it's not the latter.
IDK Lukas. But I'm right there with you, I really hope it's not the later in your statement. If it's just limited areas for a competitive PVP mode it would be fine. But if it's the free-roam servers that would be terrible.
It's more of an Always online shooter than an MMO, It takes things from MMO's like raids and stuff but its not one. I mean by your logic watch dogs could in a since be an MMO or dark souls. Besides they said they could have up to 50+ people in public events but then that would 9/10 just retract from your experience of feeling important and challenged.
@Shadonic Hey I'm not the one who generalized it as an MMO, that was Bungie. I don't really see it as that either, but if what they are going for is in fact an MMO like experience, they are going to need more than 12 players on screen. I didn't put any of "my logic" into that statement, just going by what the game has been stated to be. None of that was me coming to my own conclusions.

I think people are lacking an understanding of what pvp means. If they are capping 12 people to a server,They are talking about a competitive multiplayer mode being 6 v 6. the cooperative free roaming campaign mode would likely allow for 12 people to share a game world cooperatively. This news shouldn't be seen as a knock against Destiny' aspirations to be MMO-ish. That's to the dynamic matchmaking system. The way I understand it, There may, be only 12 people per session, but matchmaking occurs on the fly, behind the seems, so you may encounter 1 group of players in one area, then end up on a different server, encountering a different group when you travel to another area. It would appear to the user that their are more that 12 players in the world.
6 v 6 in Titanfall works better than most people thought it would. Respawn could have put more players in a lobby but purposefully kept it at 12. More pilots means more titans and more titans wouldn't fit. More pilots and say goodbye to wallrunning. Wallrunning increases your speed at the expense of exposure and vulnerability. The strategy within Titanfall is best imagined with 6 v 6. I assume Activision and Bungie have been through similar testing as EA and Respawn have done with their game. I'm still unclear if it is 12 or 24 players total but whichever the case, I'm sure it is what is best for the game. Not every game wants to be Battlefield. I don't understand how every one was fine with Boderlands having only 4 players but not a competitive shooter of 6 per side. You know that smaller groups work better than larger ones. That's why battlefield has squads.
Hit the nail on the head. The maps are too small to fit more titans. I think they could have made it 8vs8 and be ok, but its fairly hectic with 6 or more titans already.
Smartest thing to do is what until Bungie says something. Maybe last gen is 12 total, next gen is 24. Who really knows until we get some Concrete evidence.
Im thinking their pushing the group of 3's party systerm so if you join pvp youl be grouped with three other people!
12 is probably the current limit for PVP so 6v6 which means 2 fireteams per team. Public events limit can go up to 50+ and i believe i've heard someone say that they could increase party sizes if its wanted/needed.
I swear the average Gamers thinking when it comes to games has become so warped this gen. instead of it being about new experiences its either 1080p/60 FPS or dont even exist or if your MP isnt in the range of BF4 than it wont be good. More players doesnt mean it will be better in any way shape or form and a higher resolution and 60 FPS doenst mean your getting a game that will be any fun anyway.
I thought this game was going to be filled with players. I will have to scale back on some of the anticipation.
