During a recent interview with Eurogamer, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski has confirmed that the developer’s upcoming conclusion to its famous role-playing series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, will not feature any kind of platform-exclusive content.
Good guy CD Projeckt Red.
"We are treating all gamers equally"
Huge respect to them. It's a shame that attitudes like this are in such short supply amongst developers and publishers these days.
So the extra Nvidia physx effects doesn't count?
Good, this is the way all multiplats should be.
These guys for president.
Yea, this is nice. That way, players across all platforms can enjoy every piece of content together. I always found it odd that developers would split gamers like that. Especially when each platform gets its own different content. Maybe someone on the PC wanted to play the extra PS4 missions, etc...
Its nice to take a step back in time, before all of this exclusive content bartering happened. It commercializes gaming in a way that isnt good for any consumer, as you have to pick and choose your platform, to play the content or get the swag you want. Not good for anybody except retailers trying to get an edge on their competition, by offering extra advertising or floor space to said game, for extra content that may sway one gamer or another to their "edition" of the game. Some of the content offering more insight to the back story or history of the world we are set loose to explore.
So, congrats CD Projeckt Red. I applaud your honor in not selling out to commerce, for a few extra sales. Thank you.
