Ubisoft’s The Crew Hopes to be the “World of Warcraft of Racing Games”

Ubisoft’s upcoming driving title, The Crew, seems set on leading the pack this Fall with it’s ambitious online multiplayer, extensive car customization and next-gen open world engine. (PC, PS4, The Crew, Xbox One)

It has the style of an mmo where the vehicle is your character to customize, not the driver. PvP like a mmo, big open-world like a mmo, and always online like a mmo. So it is like the WoW of racing games! this is something new to racing games that's never been done before with a racer so i can't wait to try it out.
And please don't start with the microtransactions and it's a pay-to-win bull%#@!, because it won't break the game. The CD of the crew already said it won't ruin it.

There is a Need for Speed MMO though.. but it's not that great. This will definitely be an improvement and we'll see where it goes.

Everyone else cat drool over Project Cars and Driveclub, this is the driving game that has me most excited!

While I agree The Crew looks better and better, I would also say the same for Drive Club and Project Cars. I can't see myself buying more than two of them, and right now I'm torn which two to get. Drive Club is throwing wrench into it, because it's looking really good and I know I won't be satisfied with the limited psplus free version.

I plan on downloading the free version of drive club, and I'll buy it if I like it. Right now it doesn't excite me as much as the Crew

That's what this game needs to be. I'm glad they're actually focusing on making it Happen. Should be interesting

Despite their differences, i'm a person that enjoys both styles of arcade and sim racing games. I'm thrilled to own all 3! the crew, driveclub, and project cars are all amazing racing games. I like both styles, so it's a win-win for me! :-)
one thing that bothers me about driveclub though is there is i have only seen one steering wheel being made by thrustmaster, whereas the crew is compatible with several steering wheel supports according to the crew twitter page, but they did not say which ones though. :\

Edit: why would they choose WoW out off all mmo games? it's not a bad game, it looks pretty cool, but just don't understand it. :|
