Petitioners Want To Keep Nintendo WFC Running

Ryan from Twinfinite writes: "For those of you unaware, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service for the Wii, DS, and DSiWare will be terminated on May 20. Online services for the 3DS and WiiU will remain unchanged. A petition has surfaced on Change.org to urge Nintendo to reconsider the termination of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. As of writing, 346 signatures have been cultivated." (Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Wii)

Because Nintendo has such a great history of giving in to petitions....

well they worked for last story and xenoblade and pandoras tower ro why not

That wasn't a petition. It was a movement formed by Operation Rainfall. Nintendo already stated Xenoblade localization wasn't because of the petitions. Nor was The Last Story and Pandora's Tower. XSEED was probably the one who got Nintendo to localize them. So Nintendo gave them the rights to published it as a partnership.

People have had ample time to complain. A little late to be doing it now. Reminds me of Hitchhiker's Guide...

All of these games together won't be missed as much as Halo 2 being shut down.

I never understand these types of petitions. They rarely (if ever) accomplish anything. I do agree that this is a bit early to shut down some of those games' online features, but some of these titles a getting a bit old. Regardless, the Wii's online capabilities sucked, and I am thankful that the Wii U's online is much better.

I do wish these petitioners the best, but I honestly don't think this will reach Nintendo's radar.
