Xbox One and Kinect: A failed invasion of the living room

VideoGamer: "Microsoft has announced that it will be shipping a Kinect-less Xbox One for £349. Steve Burns looks at the peripheral's past and Microsoft's future." (Kinect, Microsoft, Xbox One)

theres also a few praising the move. its just big news right now, and we'll probably see a ton of arguments from both sides of opinion in the next week.

I think Microsoft is being smart and taking the licks on the chin before e3....so the internet can get mad all they want but this will all be forgotten once the games hit

Also since when is options for gamers a bad thing..I think it makes Microsoft seem a little shady but I feel that the ppl who haven't purchased an xbox one are winning....think about what they are getting

Titanfall
Dr3
Forza
Plants v zombies
Sunset overdrive
Games with good
No paywall

There the smart consumers not the early adopters as myself

Lastly if they announce a white disk less sku I will be purchasing another xbox one to go with my ps4 xbox one(kinect) combo

why would you include "no paywall" as a benefit of xb1? competitors have had this feature FOREVER and ms is the one who brought the damn thing into existence. i hate it when ANY person or company adds pointless "benefits" like that. thanks to ms, playing online is a paid service now... not having a paywall for basic online functions was straight-up robbery and now people are actually thinking it's this huge thing now that it's gone? it shouldn't have existed in the first place. it's like getting excited over a bullet point on the box that says, "includes controller".
Lawboy2  +   342d ago
Obviously u didn't read what I said...I included it because ppl who didn't early adopt will have this feature when they do buy...those are the things they will benefit from obviously since ppl who have had it from the start had to have the paywall

Also who has an xbox one and doesn't have live that makes no sense since almost every game for the xbox one needs live....because almost every game has some type of MP COMPONENT
chobit_A5HL3Y  +   342d ago
you're obviously missing the point lolz it's still a feature that EVERYONE else already had and still has. adding it to a list of "perks" doesn't suddenly make it that much better. it's a pointless bullet point on your list. you've also manged to miss the entire point of my original comment. please read again(and again) until you understand. thx.

@ Law

i'm pretty sure chobit was saying that ms introduced the whole pay model for online services now, and that it's kind of messed up how people manage to spin it like they're the greatest thing ever when they do a 180 on some of their policies.

and you pretty much proved her whole point with the second part of your comment on your reply lol

I think they should have bundled it with a game, its more attractive for people, that way.

They over thought it. The consumer clearly didn't want a bundled Kinect but they didn't listen.
