Target Lists Smash Bros 3DS for August 29th

"Usually, when retailers make listings for games they include a placeholder date for when they predict the game will come out. This date is usually at the end of the month, or at the end of the quarter. That is why Target’s listing for Super Smash Bros for the 3DS is so interesting, because the release date is listed as August 29th, not the end of a month. What is even more interesting is that the date of August 29th is very plausible, as it is in the summer release window, and it is a Friday, the day when Nintendo has been releasing most of its games as of late" -- Nintendo Enthusiast.

Seems accurate to me. They usually have a big August game for 3DS anyway. Question is, will a new model debut with Smash just like it did with Pokemon and NSMB2 in years past?

Sounds about right.

Keeps the releases between 3DS/Wii U not that long so the hype remains there the entire time.

Probably Late November for Wii U version.

* That summer wait though....

That's like the end of summer :( Why can't it be earlier?

No, that's a placeholder date. Unless Nintendo was REALLY stupid. August 29th would be the end of Summer break for kids in most places where Smash sells. Nintendo wants it to be there for at least a month in the summer to let children's word of mouth spread and get the game more sales before fall is upon us.
