The first Gears of War game for Xbox One may draw on what 343 achieved with Halo 4, Black Tusk Studios general manager Rod Fergusson has told OXM
As long as the learning process is equal parts what to do and what not to do... all fine with me.
never liked any of the Gears games the gameplay was good but the story was very generic and the character designs were stupid but hopefully the new talent they are assembling can re-invent the franchise.
Its all about the chainsaw on the gun.
agree halo4 was one of the best games for last gen , and the MP was great too , i hope GOW4 will be as epic as GOW2 that game is dope
Multiplayer was ok imo, but the halo 4 single player was spectacular. If black tusk can make it that good, that would be amazing
More like: in my opinion, halo 4 was one of the best games of last gen. To say halo 4 was the one of the best is really stretching it
Your one bubble say otherwise :) Jk. I agree Halo 4 was great but far from one of the best.
GOW will be very efficient using the knowledge they got from Halo.
Halo 4 was not the same feeling for me multiplayer. I think this gears of war is going to deviate a lot and have upgraded guns which would ruin it for me. Not having weapons on map would be a mistake
If they do that I lose all hope for Gears
That is what I did with Halo lol. I still remember the leak of MP details like it was yesterday. Man I wish those leaks ended up fake
Why? Did you die a lot? Halo 4 Multi wasn't the same because it was fresher and faster. Go back and play Halo 3 and tell me if you honestly think it is better. Believe me as a long time Halo vet, it has not held up like you might think it has.
343i stated that they had learned a lot from their work on Halo 4 and that Halo 5 would definitely take on a more polished state upon release. I thought Halo 4 was pretty good as it stood so I'm totally excited for Halo 5 and curious about GoW and how that will change.
I think some people will take this as bad news as I know Halo 4 got alot of hate, I personally enjoyed it but I'm not a hardcore Halo fan. I dont care for Gears either, purely because I absolutely suck at it. I have no doubt it will be another brilliant entry to the series though.
In narrative, absolutely. Gears has the cast of characters to work with, but pales in comparison to the overarching story in Halo. Gameplay wise, they both have their own identities and I don't think that needs to be tinkered with. Gears has a proven fast-paced, edge of your seat formula to build on in MP. If anything, the MP in Halo needs to go back to the Halo 2 era. Sometimes less is more.
I want these guys to try something new as long as the games pacing goes back to gow2
I'm waiting for Gears of War: COGs in Space. On a more serious note though I hope Locust somehow make a return as thought they were a great enemy and between human testing on them, several attempts to wipe them out as well as a few still unanswered questions they have plenty to contribute. The Lambent were cool but could live without them or at least would prefer a new Strain or perhaps like ash men be more Human variants instead of Resident Evilled Locusts. With genetically manipulated Sires running around I wouldn't mind them (genetic hybrids/mutants) taking the place of Lambent either. Basically I just want it to be good without going too crazy. They need to look more at the original Gears of War IMO and less at Judgement (ignoring it entirely wouldn't be a bad decision in my book). On its own Judgement is "okay" but my least favorite Gears by far. Hopefully they return to darker story/setting of Gears 1 as had an almost pseudo Horror vibe at times which none of the others captured. Its part of why I liked it the most.
Seeing Maria underground all shriveled up and dead, and that damn worm thing, and the flying Locust....those seemed pretty horrific to me. http://img3.wikia.nocookie....
I just wanted to say it was so nice to read these post and all they do is talk about games, a lost art.
Well it can't be any worse than Judgement from a MP standpoint.
I personally didn't care for Halo 4 at all.
Halo 4 or reach wasnt for me and I love halo the stories are great but mp I didnt really like maybe its the jet packs lol
Hopefully learning from halo4 means learning why you shouldn't get rid of the very fundamentals that made multiplayer addictive in an attempt to mimic other, more shallow shooter franchises.
Keeping it the same but also evolving the look and possible setting is what i take from this and it sounds like he's in the know about halo 5 being different then halo 4.....hmmm I really hope its a open world(or atleast borderlands style) sandbox shooter.
I don't know how when there two completely different types of shooting genres. @ new monday are you back on that soapbox again. I only rented to you for week and you have had it for months. Give it back.lol.
I cannot wait to see what they have in store for GOW. I'm hoping they have a teaser to show off at E3 giving us an idea of what we may be dealing with...The beauty of Gears of War is that it is pure eye candy. It is just awesome. I think Halo 4 had a great level of quality, and that is likely what they are referring to here. Personally, I'd like to see the levels really expand (for potential vehicle use) and an absurd amount of enemies on screen at once...I'm sure there will be new features regardless, but I'm really hoping they amp up the gameplay to a ridiculous level of chaos.
