A new UT game is coming but the philosophy surrounding the development of the game is almost as interesting as the game's direction itself...
I want this game YESTERDAY!
One reason NOT to be excited about ut4... Free + Open Source = Hacker Heaven. Don't get me wrong, the rest sounds great!
I love this focus on modding and community driven development. Killing Floor 2 was just announced for PC and it too is being built from the ground up to be modded like crazy. Ah.. I love PC gaming.
To get excited? Puh-lease... If you were around playing Unreal up to UT2K4, you know why you should be excited. UT3 was probably the worst in the series, and I still enjoyed the heck out of that game.
Excited that they are doing it this way!
The way they plan on making money from it has me excited the most. If it takes off, it could be huge and maybe even start a new trend for new fps games.
I'm excited because of how the game will be built
Many assignments and exams were swayed because of unreal tournament online and the late nights that hosted them. . I beat Xan fair and square . . . Those days huh . . . . The ps3 version didn't quite live up to the hype. Although it's implementation was a bit floaty, it was one of the only games that had mouse and keyboard support.
Bring it to PS4 please......you did UT3 on PS3 with Mods, surely Sony would be up to this new one on the PS4. The market place has really opened up to free to play games on the PS4, so this sort of market place they talk of could happen right??? I can dream anyway.
You really dont get it do you... fast paced games are not ment for controllers. The only way would be to add ton of aim assist and they are making this game as a competitive one so it would not make sens
back in the day UT and Quake masters were revered due to their skill with a mouse and keyboard. They all but wrote the book on twitch gaming. My guess is they want to push the new unreal engine to its limits and they could only do that making it a pc exclusive. If they announced multiplat then you'd have a bunch of whiny 12 year olds throwing their snot around the internet because the pc version was massively superior.
PS4 can use mouse and keyboard, just saying. But going by UT3, UT should stick with PC.
I really don't get it? How patronising is that? Is there any need for that sort of tone? I know what sort of game it is and who it appeals to and the history behind them but there is no reason why it couldn't be ported to over platforms. If it was on PS4 or Xbox 1 their eco-system for playing could be closed so aim assist wouldn't hamper the Mouse and keyboard PC players. I just thought the mods that were run on the PS3 worked really well and it was interesting to see it done on a normally closed console. So in my opinion it would be good to see it done again.
Get a PC
New unreal engine plus unreal tournament, that alone gets me excited.
I thought UT3 on PS3 was absolutely aweful, but 10 years ago I remember playing them on the PC in large lan games at school and it was amazing. If this is like the old ones then awesome!
