Good Guy Sony: MLB 14: The Show 'Day 1 Digital' Users Offered With An Apology And Free Cash

GearNuke: "Earlier this week, MLB 14: The Show faced a lot of controversy when users who pre-ordered the game digitally to avail the 'Day 1 Digital' program were unable to do so due to some technical reasons. This angered a lot of these users and some even asked for refund, and were given one."

Yeah, I got mine this morning. This was a nice gesture and shows good faith. At least they are trying to make amends. Other companies would've chalked it up to the unforeseeable and not given consumers an apology or anything. Good job, Sony.

Care to elaborate? Which other companies?

EA and DICE haven't givin me squat for BF4, exept an "extra XP weekend".
Something I suppose, but an actual store credit would have been much more appreciated.

Some n4g members were calling this a 'fiasco' and saying sony wasn't 'acknowledging' the issue even though they were offering gratuity. Sensationalism always tends to be adopted from those who have nothing more viable to chastise with.

Glad sony resolved the issue. I hope its enough for those affected.

I was one of them who said it was a fiasco from the start. It took Sony 12 hours to even acknowledge that there was a problem to begin with. It wasn't exactly a great start for them.

That being said, I am glad that Sony did this for those who were affected. It shows that they care. They could have easily just gone on and said that they had some issues and that they were working to fix it and that was it.

Good move Sony, this is called Customer Service.

Oh okay! Thanks, I haven't picked this up yet, but I always buy sports games at retail instead of download. I wish they did cross buy for this/vita :-) Then I would be able to take it with me on the go. Anyhow, I'll pick this up in a few days for my PS4 from GameStop.

I got my e-mail last night a little after 9PM Est. Thanks to the online PS Store I went ahead and redeemed each code. Now I have stubs waiting on me for when I get home.

Edit: Also just to add I too wasn't happy that it was down for so long. I work nights so I had my Vita with me to log in and start the download that night so I could play a few games before bed. I knew it would get fixed eventually so I didn't call Sony support or rage about it though. I was able to play some yesterday at least and will be streaming later today when I get home. Still getting the e-mail was a nice shock.

I just got mine as well. It was a pleasant surprise at the least.
