IR: "So my first reason is The Witcher 3. CD Projekt’s role playing game is only coming on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. They have purposely avoided releasing the game on last gen consoles for a single reason."
There are so many reasons why it should be current gen only but since ESO isn't coming to last gen I don't worry about Fallout 4 / Elder Scrolls 6.
zero chance Fallout 4 is coming to last gen consoles. Todd Howard always says "if install base mattered, everyone would be making board-games because everyone has a table."
I'm not certain about the percentage of probability that Gen 7 consoles will or will not get this game but I hope a game of this caliber would only come to Gen 8 consoles and PCs. This will reduce the overall development costs as well as help to drive sales of Gen 8 hardware and PC upgrades. Plus we would get higher quality games if developers focused only on the more recent generation.
That is a fantastic quote.
So he is making a Wii U version? Todd Howard scurries away....
Because Fallout is badass franchise, one of the best and it can't be having any of this part current gen, part last gen stuff.
The userbase on current gen is big enough to justify omitting last gen releases. 'Nuff said.
You should've made the title of this article "Why Fallout 4 should only be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC." The title makes people think you're against a PC version instead of last-gen versions.
My thoughts exactly.
All people have to do is read what, like 2 sentences to figure out he isn't leaving out pc? React to the article and not the title.
I had no doubts myself that it was still PC. It's just a way of getting people to click on the article. Personally I'm getting this for the PC for modding reasons alone. Modding was all the fun with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Plus mods allowed me to fix and work around many of the game breaking glitches that took forever to get fixed. I fully expect Fallout 4 to have many of the same issues Fallout 3 and New Vegas had (more so if the scale goes up on world size and number of events scripted).
We only do titles here ! Just kidding! :)
I think Stapleface is right. We often react to the headlines without actually reading the article which is detrimental to both us and N4G as a whole. :/
I concur with reason #4. Fallout is not only catering to a hardcore audience - with Fallout 3 the series became a mainstream. The bottom line is if they make this game, the marked will follow.
I've 1 big reason, because we brought next gen consoles.
Fallout 4 deserves to run on an engine only worthy of next-gen consoles and PC. We've seen what last-gen can do, and frankly, Fallout 4 needs the hardware upgrade. Last-gen has sailed...I wish the industry would intentionally steer clear of it when it comes to major sequels since sequels need to be improving the series, not just continuing it.
Just as long as it runs well and looks nice, I'm cool either way to be honest. :)
All I read was Fallout and PS4 and got excited, don't care about anything else, just the words Fallout and PS4, really hoping to see something about it at E3, that is THE one game I'm eager to see that happen for PS4/Xbox One utilizing the power of the systems (hopefully), they can do something beautiful with what they've got, and even though I still have my last gen consoles they should definitely just work on next-gen, like as the author stated Witcher 3.
