"Microsoft has revealed that its Xbox E3 Media Briefing will take place on June 9th at 9.30 AM PDT, and much like last year - except without all the DRM and used games controversies - we're going to be seeing lots of games."
Something tells me this E3 is going to be amazing for all company's involved! personally hoping for fallout 4 teaser :)
Lots of games to show? Bring it on. Ms is really hyping up this event. They have never been all out like this. I guess they do have a lot to show and the funny thing is that we know nothing about their top secret projects. Great times ahead.
Damn right this E3 feels special, the first of the generation, they're always special. Can't wait!
@Chris For the past month Phil's been hyping lots of games shown but dang just how much are they showing? MS has a decent size first party but where are all these games coming from other than first party? My guess possible Third party partnerships. I know that's a not a popular assumption but think about it. Phil Spencer seems like he'll do whatever it takes to give us game content. Greenberg said, “Yeah this year feels special, can focus on the games!” Lol I guess before they really couldn't focus on games. Thank you, Phil. For the rescue.
@lukas J Yeah..it does feel really special. Like it will go down in history. Im sure it will. @angelice Well i think they will announce a number of partnerships but we still dont know what all their first party studios are working on. Ms has been pretty quiet on that front. 343i alone is rumored to have 2 more projects in development. Rare, turn10, lionhead and the smaller devs have unannounced projects too and we have some unannounced studios and then MS long time 2nd party partners are all rumored to be working on stuff.
Phil Spencer is the best thing to happen to the Xbox Platform in a very long time. I'm beyond pysched for E3 2014, I'm pretty much counting the days, hours, minutes hell even the seconds. Seriously can't wait to see what all these new IP's are. Keep in mind that they are a mix of Triple A titles and indie games through their indie programme. Just suxs that May has only just begun. Ohhhhh man I can't stand having to wait.
The only thing that has me a little nervous, ok maybe really, really nervous is "IF" the Halo announcement turns out to be well not Halo 5 but instead Halo 2 Anniversary Edition. I know a segment of gamers would be still pysched....but I for one would be disappointed if this is what 343i jump on stage and reveal.
MS doesn't have a lot of first party studios so id be cautious about getting too excited about their E3 news. I'm not trying to put a damper on things but they simply don't have many first party studios to provide them with games. On top of that they are painfully absent from the free to play games and on the indie front where Sony is dominating them. And their xbox live policies hurt them in this regard because you can't play free to play games like Warframe and War Thunder and the many other FTP games coming without XBL and it'll hinder them getting the big FTP games. Free to play games are quickly becoming the norm in the gaming space. Sony doesn't require PS+ for FTP games and it's something MS should look into changing among the many other policies they need to change on XBL times are and have changed and they need to adjust their policies and value proposition accordingly. Back on topic though without a great stable of first party studios and with Sony close to a 2-1 advantage in sales moneyhatting 3rd party games will be more expensive and harder to come by as this generation goes along meaning less games for the Xbox One temper your expectations and ignore the hype because they said the same things last year and failed to deliver.
If they can do a $400 XBOX One and a Gears game, they'll have my attention. MS's E3's haven't been the greatest the past few years. Too much time spent on CoD and other 3rd party software. I like seeing the exclusives from the big 3. Let the 3rd party do their own press conferences. EDIT: @ Copen - MS has 20 first party studios... that's a lot. (SOURCE) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
I'm hoping for Fallout 4 announcment too... But yes this E3 does feel very special and MS are building a lot hype and momentum as we approach the even. I can't wait, very excited... E3 here we come.
If theres a Fallout 4, will not notice any other game then..... All that talk for nothing then.....
Yeah I really hope this will be the best E3 we had in a while. MS needs to knock it out of the park come June. MS conference is called "Game on" Cannot wait everyone.
Both of them will have great conferences while Nintendo will have a great direct.
Well i have no doubt it feels special, 1st e3 with all the new platforms, and lotsa new games to show off. Its bound to be fun to watch.
I don't have my expectation as high as I usually do for E3 anymore... Look at last year, should've been the launch of nextgen - when really only this month is the first awesome nextgen game finally releasing, watch_dogs.. last year was nothing but a giant controversy shitshow, and games that have yet to release a year later (MGS:V, Driveclub, The Crew, Witcher, Division, Sunset, Halo, ect)
Sadly, I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of the games that were shown last year. Not that I mind seeing more of them, but since their release is a lot sooner, you know they're probably going to get the most attention. Luckily Watch Dogs will be out by then, so we won't have to sit through another year of that...in two separate conferences no less. It got way too much attention over 2 E3's. While it's an existing game, I want to see what we don't know about yet.
Same here colt. Im dying for some Fallout 4.
I'm sure this is a reach, but for me, if they bring out an Xbox One for $350 or less (including Kinect or not, I don't care), I'll buy one. The thing is, it HAS TO cost less than a PS4 before I'll buy one. To me, the Kinect doesn't add value. It doesn't remove value, either, so if they include it, I don't care, but if they have to remove it to get the Xbox One cheaper than the PS4, then they should remove it. The Xbox One as a console (not with the expense of Kinect added in) is not worth more than a PS4, period, and *for me personally* the Kinect has no relevant use or application that I will take advantage of, so it adds no value *for me* and it doesn't make me willing to pay more than the price of a PS4 for the Xbox One. But the Xbox One of course has good games and will get more. I will always be a Halo fan and will want to play the next one. So, Microsoft, do the right thing and fix the "price of admission" to the Xbox One, and you'll sell your console better (especially to me).
I have a good feeling that Phil Spencer will bring Xbox back to it's glory days, and it all starts on June 9th. And hopefully, what Phil shows and announces will be good enough for me to buy an Xbox One this year! Putting Phil in charge of Xbox has probably been the smartest thing Microsoft has done in a while.
Definitly the right guy for the job. Some seem to think otherwise but i approve of Phil 110%
Glory days ? They never even won a generation before. OT: This is gonna be the best E3 ever. MS and Sony are going all out. Idk about Nintendo.
But the original Xbox and early years of the 360 were times with extremely high customer satisfaction. Lately they've been slacking and a lot hope Spencer will return it to those days. Sales arent the factor.
You could say they highly succeeded with 360, sales wise. I don't think MS flat out lost out on anything last gen other than their games focus.
@PrinceOfAllSaiyans I had no idea glory = sales. I was talking about the days of Xbox and Xbox 360, when the Xbox team consisted of guys like J. Allard, Peter Moore and Robbie Bach, who consistently focused on Xbox games and Xbox Live, and building up the resources to centralize Xbox around gaming first. Plus, the market share Xbox gained from the Xbox 360 in the last generation could count as a huge victory for Microsoft as well.
I agree with Angelic, they didnt lose anything except their game focus on the core audience... all three consoles did really well last gen...
The original Xbox struggled in the market. I'll hand it to MS and say they were persistent and did make something out of the 360. They played their cards right. Had a few missteps, but who hasn't from time to time. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "glory days", but they certainly did shine bright for 4-5 years there. I feel they were just a black mark on gaming the last couple years of the 360's life and up until Spenser was given the reigns, however.
Cant wait to see what all the consoles have to offer!
Same here! My gaming juices flow thinking about it! I love being a gamer! Gotta love gaming on multiple platforms!
Is gamingbolt.com the anti-Dualskockers? It seems like they keep posting good and real news while the other site keep posting rumors from Neogaf insiders. Keep up the great work, Rashid! OT, this is probably the most exciting E3 for me since the first E3 revealing of the XB360. It should be a fun and exciting show.
The most Exciting E3 for me was 2013, when all the info for "Next Gen" consoles were revealed! It was like Christmas
can't wait for E3 bring it on sony and microsoft also nintendo
damnit its so close but so far away! I wanna just sleep and wake up on that morning lol.
I bet this yr will have less unannounced games than last yr. Some of the games shown this yr have been already announced like QB, SO, Spark..And they are gonna put on Xbox Originals, tv stuff again. For those who commented tv stuff won't be shown, Aaron Greenberg said otherwise. please read the article first before disagree or comment.
