GameInformer- Jonathan Cooper, former animation director on Assassin's Creed III and lead animator on Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, has moved over to Naughty Dog.
WHATS GOING AT NAUGHTY DOG! They are losing all the tal... No wait a minute they are adding more talent.
They want to bring new ideas, power and skill to create an amazing game again. They losing all the talent to gain new ones to bring more wonderful direction and create new ips. Naughty Dog never done a bad game so trust them for what they are doing now because they will show that they always have the touch.
it's time for people to realize gaming, or to some extent, IT developer has this practice of hiring people per-project based so it's not unusual for people to come and leave after a project is finished. Imagine it like athletes transfer between clubs.
Delsin vs Cole FIGHT!
Nathan drake in a hoodie coming up!
People come and go, as exclusives do too, point in case who gives a shit as long as we get the games to play.
Hardly a difference when a employee leaves.. Hardly a difference when a new employee comes.. On a side note the animations in the ND games are far superior than those AC games already.
can someone bring talent person to crapcoom ? we really need one of those talent to make resident evil good as the original
@ColeMacGrath let me shake your hand, I just want to say hi XD.
He will be fine. Just like AC, all he has to do is evolve already existing assets. Hey, gotta move on and get games made.
WHAT'S GOING ON AT UBISOFT?! Is this the beginning of the end for Ubisoft? How is AC5 going to recover from this?! All of these stories are coming. Mark my words. Each one will probably have at least 3 articles coming from Dualshockers alone.
I'm not sure but I don't think Ubisoft used Jonathan to be the lead animator on AC4, so I'm going to assume they'll use a different lead animator as well on AC5. Edit: I've done some research and it turns out Yung Tim Lang was the lead animator of AC4. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm...
DualShockers has produced more stories about new jobs, postings and recruiting than any other site. I think you are thinking of IGN which obsesses over anything unpleasant about Naughty Dog. They posted nearly 20 articles and videos talking about 5 people while Bioshock's team just bearly got a mention... which makes them huge hypocrites.
You can't really blame dualshockers, they report on whatever news is floating around the internet, it is the major websites like IGN who have turned this whole "employee moving" thing into a huge deal. Colin and Gregg from IGN basically said that they think Naughty Dog is in trouble, and Uncharted could be delayed until 2016. LOL. Journalistic trolling at it's finest.
@ColeMacGrath: Yung Tim Lang, isn't he a rapper?
@BlackWolf12 so DS can post whatever flamebait articles they want because they aren't as big as IGN!? what kind of logic is that????? So if I run a small company I can do whatever wrong I want, if I was running a big company then I can't do any wrong?????? WTF!!!???
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks DS spams useless articles. Couldn't tell you how annoyed I was seeing 5 Infamous articles from them a day. Gaming journalism is a joke.
@Eonjay: I am a bit perplexed by your comment. First you say that Dualshockers has produced more stories about jobs, postings, and recruiting than any other site (which is what I was eluding to with my comment) but then say that IGN did more than them? I'm actually talking about Ubisoft though, not Naughty Dog.
they just kicked out useless chaps and getting real talents instead, I kid, I kid!
Hopefully it wasn't the same guy working on AC4 BF , those animations were ps2 level utter garbage (considering the year) , ac3 was so much better.
majiebeast 4 people left ND out of 250 plus who work there, Amy left(unknown reasons), one of the guys left to take a better position and the other 2 also unknown(one being someone who left 2k(bioshock)to come and than move on to another) IMO ND are at the very top when it comes to working there so 4 people leaving will only provide opportunities for those undiscovered talents look at TLOU it was handled by a new team and turned out great ND have a premier development studio so replacing or adding new talent is never gonna be an issue. Its just these gaming sites are full of fanboys so anything negative about ps4/sony gets major headlines because ps4 is doing so well
Oh my God the sky is falling. Naughty dog is hiring new talent. Sony is so broke how are they going to pay him.s:/ When a game is as successful as The last of us. The people who made the game will become more valuable. When more valuable these people look for the best opportunities for themselves. corvusmd@ stealth troll
It sucks that the animations in AC3 were some of the buggiest in the series and glitchiest. The good thing, this is when they also started getting the "Micro-movements" to look more realistic.
B-But Naughty Dog's dying out! Seriously, that's why people shouldn't have freaked out in the first place.
That's exactly what I was thinking, with all the hype about them losing people they seem to be gaining some great talent as well. Can't wait to see what they produce in their collaboration.
Good pick up for Naughty Dog. The animation on those games was good for the time, although AC3 is by far the worst in the series in every other aspect.
He was also an animator for ME 1&2
AC3 was the worst in the series, but the animations are some of the best I've ever seen and it had a ton of them. It introduced dozens of new ways to climb and get around, various weather patterns, etc., and these all require new animations for the characters you play. Maybe the climbing and parkour animations, or any other animations in Uncharted and whatever other games ND are working on can use Jonathan Cooper's direction.
What AC4 was easily the best one, and the only one that I enjoyed. It was something new and fresh with the whole pirate thing. Now that they're going back to the lame ass European setting on AC Unity I'm not interested in it.
@Vegeta: AC4 being the best is HIGHLY debatable. That said, no one was talking about AC4, they were talking about AC3. But I'm with you on the setting of AC Unity. We've already had a game set in a Revolution, we don't need another one. Ubisoft are too arrogant, and they refuse to give us what we've all been wanting since AC1. An AC game set in Japan. They think it's too cliche, they obviously don't like money.
Great addition to Naughty Dog, loved Mass effect 1 and 2.
Good job Naugthy Dog as always Naughty gods
That's good news
