Sony’s Project Morpheus team attended the 10th Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Meetup and gave a demonstration of the headset using the Castle demo.
Naruto in VR confirmed, get ready to show off my skills as an shinobi-off topic on topic- damn this looks pretty sweet! and pretty constant too, not bad honestly!
Wait if your account still exists then who is XiNarutoUzumaki? o.o OT: I like how the 2 PS Move controllers work EXACTLY like both of your hands, it sure sounds super awesome with games like God of War... Me actually holding Blades of Chaos... BRING IT SONY!
I like the fact that the guy playing never loses his orientation what with all the movement.
Seems like there is slight lag in the movements, but not bad for a closed demo
That's due to splitter box, it happens with Oculus demos too.
dunno why people disagree with you. you can notice the lag, but of course there's a lag it's closed demo hell i will doubt the legitimate of the video if i didn't notice any bug or some problems.
Wow, that looks pretty sweet. Sony needs to make an official Move add-on like this: http://static.wixstatic.com...
Looks like I have nothing to worry about. I hope I can get VR soon so I can chop some things up.
This looks awesome, but one thing though.... is it just me or is that a Kinect 1.0 being used as the sensor? If not then it is definitely not the Playstation Eye, so what is it? Newer version of the PSEye?
It looks like the EYE tracking retina camera that they demo at GDC... Where they play ISS without moving ur head, only your retina you can change the camera view...
...Its the ps eye on a stand... reference : http://media.bestofmicro.co...
Project Morpheus + Move Gun = ?
I know the answer: AMAZING! @[email protected]
Not surprised that the Move works well. It is nearly 1:1 on the regular Move games like Sports Championship , so it should work well in VR.
This is going to fail big time. I can already see it. I do not want a headset on my head, at all, period, point blank. PS Move + PS Camera + Morpheus - How much is this going to cost? Seems like it might cost as much as the console itself.
The average person can't afford a Ferrari but look how they are going. Just because YOU don't like something, or cant afford it, doesn't mean it won't be a success.
A headset on the head? thats just crazy man!
I put them on my feet.
You aren't required to buy a Move, since it's a required for all VR games to support both Move and traditional DualShock 4 controller scheme. The camera is cheap. The Morpheus, we are yet to see how well Sony prices it. If you don't want a headset on your head, you will never experience games in an environment as immersive as games can be. It's pretty much your loss.
i guess you are a fan of headphones aren't you.
This thing won't sell if it's relying on Move.
On the contrary, if Morpheus really takes off the PS Move will also finally take off. Morpheus + Move is the ideal VR setup. If they can get Morpheus, 2 Move sticks, the PS Eye, and a small downloadable VR game in the box for $249 to $299 I could see it being successful. And then also a barebones kit with just the Morpheus for $199 for people who already have the other stuff.
Good thing it's not relying on it. Developers MUST support both Move and DualShock 4. http://www.dualshockers.com... Adding additional Move controllers to the setup will just make the experience all that much richer and more immersive.
17 million people already own a move.
And never use it....including myself. It needs I work in all games.
Yeah it doesnt look good at all i dont see myself buying 2 move sticks and a camera. Sony needs to make it compatible with all games, primarly shooters and racers, were you can walk around and use morpheous to look around but still control the game with the dual shock.
Yeah. A lot of games will do that, just like Oculus.
The games work with Dualshock 4.
Bring it on Sony. Just do it right with the largest field on view possible and the highest resolution, and ill buy it even if it is $400. I can't wait.
oh man all that equipment they are using. I'm seeing headset, move controller and camera. all i see is money, money and more money
Everything in life is money, for people that want a this, they see value in it, others like yourself feel its too much, im lucky, I only need the headset and am looking forward to getting it day one, saving some money over a period of time to put towards something you want can really help with the costs.
I agree and think it is funny how many ppl talk crap about stuff just because they cannot afford it I think that is a bit weird I can not afford a ultra high deff TV but I do not hate them because I can't get one right now I just save my money and wait until the price come down and if you don't think you will be into it then that's your opinion but you can express yourself without being a hater it seems now a days it is kool to be a hater lol.
They say everyone has to hate something right?, maybe vr is just not for him, not gonna stop me from playing the hell out of it :-)
is not that i cant afford it but what if it doesn't live up to it they need to be careful. last thing you wants is another way more expensive kinect equiptment
The good thing about the Move is that it's forward compatible too. What a pleasant coincidence it to know my move controller will see use on the PS4. KIt's kinda like how PS1 controllers worked on the PS2. Forward compatibility, it's a helluva thing. Gateway MT6706 2008
So your wife puts up with your gaming cause its a hobby you enjoy. Now what happens when that mature action game on VR has a very mature love scene? will she let you get away with that? LOL
A good wife would join in :). The human male and female need to be reasonable, never let one control the other unless you're into that.
My wife takes over :-(
I. Want. One.
Just cant wait. Hope they crush E3 with killer IPs for VR.
I want a killer app for project Morpheus at E3 please. (So exciting to be a gamer right about now)
Damn that looks fun, can't wait to get my hands on Morpheus (Not the Lawrence Fishburne one), knew it was a good idea to hold on to all my move controllers, etc. Ahh, so much to do with VR, can't wait to see where developers imaginations go.
E3 PS4 & VR sounds like the place is set to explode.
