Several months ago, The Pokemon Company International trademarked “Pokken Fighters” and “Pokken Tournament” in the US.
A pokemon version of Tekken is upon us... made by Namco Bandai since they're making the new Smash... makes sense.
NFC Pokemon fighting game? That would move Wii U's and boost Nintendo's profits in Japan. Not to mention help it out in the rest of the world. I want to see a NFC Pokemon game where you collect Pokemon plushes instead of figurines. Come on, everyone can admit that'd be adorable.
WTF is this pokken does this equal pokemon and tekken?
Well Tekken means Iron Fist, so I'm assuming that Pokken would be a fighting game with primarily humanoid fighting Pokemon or a crossover game from Nintendo and Namco.
I'm thinking it's some kind of Pokemon Fighting NFC card trading game. The 3DS and WiiU might talk to each other via street pass and allow for trading and training of Pokemon to be used in the fighting game. Essentially this game could be a great online focus gym battle type of setting. With Nintendo updating the game frequently with new maps and gym battle achievements. Maybe a cooperative tower and defense Pokemon game
Maybe it will be a skylanders equivalent?
Please have this be announced at E3.
Sound cool, hopefully it is a full on Pokemon fighting game, I think that would be epic. On the topic of NFC though.. Am I the only one who thinks that NFC doesn't have big enough uses to be in a console? It has been in phones and tablets for years yet even in that market barely anyone uses it for anything other than small tasks. Maybe Nintendo can show me otherwise but I have never been that interested in the NFC on my Wii U knowing how it works with it. Kinda seems like another way of making content separate from a game like DLC. Guess I'll see at E3 what they have planned for it before making a final conclusion. Just seems far more practical for phones than gaming systems. I feel it would get old on consoles fast, games are expensive as it is and don't look to be getting any cheaper, the less I have to buy with a game in order to enjoy it, the better in my opinion. Not that I don't still like cards or toys but I don't want that as a form of content per say depending on how its done.
Oh baby I need this in my life! Hopefully they announce it at E3
