Its entirely possible. Really its a matter of balancing the detail.
I believe that this game's graphics are focused in the cars models.
The environments are quite nice too. Maybe not the best but the in game photo mode can take some real looking pics. I'm glad it's coming to consoles. The beta on PC is amazing and I'm not a huge racing guy.

I wouldn't hold your breath Xbone owners. You may get 60fps, but this game isn't going to run at its highest resolution on your console unless they downgrade it a lot. Need proof? Forza. That is all. Can't wait for the awesome PS4 release! This and drive club! Lots of great HD racing action coming for us!
I was disappointed at Forza 5, during E3 it was the greatest game I have ever seen, for a Forza 5 fan I was drooling, until the downgrade, the Videos clearly showed a downgrade on the environmental, lighting and shadows, main reason I opted for the PS4 at the start of this gen. Still play forza 4, best forza ever imo.
I like 4 and Horizon equally. Hoping the rumors about a Horizon 2 are true, but why would they make one when the first sold so poorly?
Agreed on Forza 4, best game in the series by far, imo. Forza 5 is a good game, i just think that it's just a step back from 4.
The irony is astonishing. Attack the Xbone for not being able to pull off 60 FPS without a downgrade and then go praise Drive Club which runs at 30FPS because the console struggled to display both the desired framerate of 60FPS and the high resolution car models... This is all coming from a Sony/Nintendo fan who dislikes hypocrisy.

Can any of you provide a link to the article or story where the frame rate and/or resolution was confirmed for Drive Club prior to the recent 1080p/30 fps confirmation? Just wanted to get some tangible info, as what you are all claiming is very compelling. As I remember, they were targeting 1080p @ 60 fps, but never confirmed that to be final. I could be wrong.
The flack for the xbone not reaching 1080/60 doesn't just come from every game. It's only relevant when the same game is coming out on ps4 and it under performs when both are compared.
It's a racing game, they have no excuse I'd understand if the consoles were too weak to run something like BF4 at very high 1080p 60fps (which they are), but racing games are about as unintensive as it gets.
Actually, when designing a racing game, you have to carefully design the course's interaction with the high resolution model cars' physics, lighting and reflections. And I say "cars" because all of them count, unless you're playing time trials and such game modes. Though I agree that 60FPS should be the designers' choice from the very beginning, as 30FPS on a racing game is unacceptable.
Can you really compair an unoptimised game engine made to run on every format including last gen that every man and his dog has complained about to anything. Let's be honest do you think bf4 made before even the dev kits were finalized will be the best engine of this gen.
Man when i look at this and Driveclub (trailers) then i watch Forza 5 gameplay i'm sorry but it doesn't look good TBH i see a lot of jaggies and the environment just looks like crap not to mention the lighting i'm sorry but its what i personally have observed. Turn 10 really downgraded that game to get1080p/60fps
Tbf it was a luanch title so they would have had to start making the game unsure what the final specs would actually be...
I find it really hard to understand why they can't code an engine to run at 60 FPS on the new consoles, that are essentially PCs, more so than ever before, with a good decade's worth of knowledge of coding available to them.
It's a trade off. The more visual effects you put into a game, the more processing time is needed, and that might mean it doesn't have the power to hit 60fps consistently. At that point the devs have to choice to either try to keep optimizing, cut back on the visuals, cut back on the resolution or cut back on the FPS. I believe they go for the FPS because you can't really see that in screen captures and trailers. But you definitely would notice the effects being cut back.
Well, the PS4 and Xbox One are more akin to high-end laptops from 2011-2012 than modern desktops, so that might have something to do with it.
Because they know people only care about gfx. You never see devs scale back games on consoles for performance. They know console gamers would rather have lower frame rate and resolution to get eye candy. And if not sucks for you. Theres not options or choice. They choose what to spoonfeed you

I'm looking at those graphics and I'm thinking "if they can hit 1080p 60fps with that level of detail and graphics, why is the first party game-driveclub only 30fps?" There might be a reason but is anyone else wondering this...
Have you seen the environments in driveclub mate? They are extremely detailed, even more than project cars, perhaps that is the reason.. :)
Driveclub will be the odd one out from the AAA racing titles. GT, Project Cars,Forza = 60fps and then theres DC.

different games different engines .... driveclub 1080/30 and this maybe 1080/60 just shows that not every developer is on the same level - no disrespect to any of them. Also Driveclub has its own qualities and goals to meet so maybe 1080/30 is a must for that game. Still looks amazing and at least its another 1080p game on PS4. Both will be great games on PS4 I am sure.
Driveclub does have VERY detailed environments to go along with the day/night effects so that is propably why they went with 1080/30 to keep all the quality intact. 1080/30 is fine anyway just look at NFS Rivals.
No offense to most of you. But all they really have to do is tone down the graphics somewhere to achieve 60fps. It's common sense. I can give you a ps 4 game running on 4k at 600fps per second with the graphics of a supernintendo
I do think that 1080p 60fps is important in games but I don't think it's as big of a deal as people make it out to be. In the end a great game is still a great game. I've played games that ran 1080p 60fps and were garbage, and played games at 720p 30fps and were fantastic. It's more of a judgement call by the devs than anything else. A lot of things factor in such as development time, experience with the hardware, and some games just feel better at lower resolutions, all PC gamers have known this fact for years now. I just think that haters in both the media and fanboys alike use it as bait to pick on games and consoles.
About resolution this and frames per second that, all that really matters is ...............does it have air conditioning simulated if not I'm out
Honestly if it needs to be 720p or 900p on Xbox one to hit 60fps so be it. It just needs to be 60fps for a race simulator.

Wow...what a click bait article title....the actual quote in the article when asked about the chances of hitting 60fps was "we're already there on the PS4, so high :)" The "high chance" was tongue and cheek because they are already there..,the title of the article clearly is intended to make people think it's not there...

forza,,...how long was that in development?..yet hits1080p 60fps..important for driving sim. driveclub,..delayed..1080p,.. yet 30fps. project cars,..60fps,..yet nothing from the DEVs stating 1080p forza had a launch window to get it released,..for those that complain about the "downgrade" in visuals,..not the gameplay or drivatars...ask your self,..IF forza had the extra time project cars had,..driveclub had,..do you think it would look the same upon release?? At the end of the day xbox one has the first 1080p 60fps which is more important, racer sim ,..and might i add the ONLY one available?? As for the ps4 fabled 50% power advantage??...well it dosent seem that way for driving sims ,..yet,..but with time it will happen. regardless,..enjoy the game,..60fps is more important than 1080p for this games.
I just think people need to agree that the leap from last gen to this gen, isn't as big as they thought it was going to be. I'm sure that's the reason people are so adamant and "butthurt" by 1080p and 60fps comments and claims. Its ok guys, games from the past were fun even if they had shocking framerates. Shadow of the Colossus, for exmaple, ran at a max fps of around 25. Get into a bossfight and it would sink to 10...10! Anyone care about that?
