GearNuke: "Xbox One store listing has revealed the install size for Watch_Dogs on the Xbox One."
Are they usually the same on PS4?
This website says the PC version will be 20GB, so I assume the PS4 version will be the same. http://www.getgamesgo.com/p...
According to steam PC size is ~25 GB
"Watch_Dogs is about 20.42 GB on Xbox One" There you go. - Well, considering both are almost equal, I expect PS4 to be something like this.
If Xbone version is 20GB, then PS4 version is about 25 GB because 1080p resolution. :-D

That logic is not neccisarly correct. BF4 is like 50GB on my PS4 if I recall correctly (without expansions). While on my PC, BF4 with China Rising installed is 29GB. I'm not sure why they do this. Maybe it's because they are still thinking about the game in terms of the bluray size on the PS4? Edit: Ah now I remember why I haven't posted on n4g in months. Nothing like getting disagrees for a statement that is nothing other than a fact.
0ut1awed It's 20-ish gigs on X1 and 20-ish gigs on the PC. I'm going to predict that the X1 version will be... 20-ish gigs.
It's kinda rare that it's the same size just because of the file format differences on each console, but generally there's never really a huge difference in sizes.
ps4 version will be slightly bigger because it has exclusive content.
YES both Xbox One and PS4 are relatively the same installs give or take a small amount where as the PC installs are always a bit bigger. 20 vs 25 is about average in the difference.
must be a slow news day
Considering this barely useful tiny info has reached 160º, no doubt.
I dont think we're going to hear much more about this game up till release day... it seems the most we will get was from "watchdogs week"
interesting... that seems a bit small for an open world game that theoretically would be massive as its suppose to reflect a major/large american city; Chicago. But hey, these days the coding is much better and can get the most out of the hardware i guess.
I do agree. Its especially worrisome on a graphical level if you consider a game like Ryse was a much bigger install than 20GB and not open at all.
Its called optimization and file compression... Infamous Second Son is 24Gb in size and thats an Open World Game with good visuals... Ryse was a launch title, with very small developer time window... Plus a lot of textures get reused in Open World Games to use up less space...
around the same size as infamous
And people was complaining infamous' size is small for a next-generation game. I dont care for the size myself cuz some devs compress their games while other dont.
Sounds good. Day 1 digital DL for sure, really looking forward to this game. 3 weeks to go. Creeping up on 60% HD used. By years end will definitely be needing that external HD...
I'm at 79%, and when I download this and KINECT Sports Rivals I'll be at approximately 86%. External hard drive support needs to get here, and fast lol.
Can they tell us the final resolution already??? Whats the big secret??? I preordered this over a month ago for my XB1 and would like to know already.
why? is it going to ruin the game for you if its low resolution?
If I am paying $60 for it I have a right to ask a question about the resolution dont you think? I will be happy if its at least 900p but knowing before I buy it is just more info for me as a consumer. Is it going to ruin your experience if people ask questions you seem to not like? Get over it. I love my XB1 and have spent alot of money on it with all the games and accessories I have for it so excuse me for asking this question.
Relax kimosabe. I'm simply asking a question. Im getting it for the XB1 as well but I could care less what resolution its in as long as the game is fun. your comment earlier made it seem like you only care about resolution
Either way , with the game's release at hand , he should already be getting relevant infos , instead of it being kept under wrap to "save sales" on any platform . Sure who cares , you'll play on the console you own if you want the game , but that little cat and mouse dance Publishers keep doing , is irritating for anyone whom's choice depend on those answers , or with multiple consoles
"Im getting it for the XB1 as well but I could care less what resolution its in as long as the game is fun." Reminds me of all the 360 fans and sites at the start of last gen saying the resolutions were better on 360 (just deserts?). Also, most reports are saying 900p for xbone, 1080p for PS4. Most devs seem to drop the resolution info as close to the release as possible so they don't affect preorders or piss off one console maker in particular. Hell, they delayed it long enough that it should be 1080p across the boards.
its been known for along time that it will run at 900p. Should look good considering battlefield looks amazing on PS4 on 900p.
Yeah there have been rumored 900-960p for a few months now. BF4 does look good at 900p and personally I would not even care if I was able to play most games at 900p with extra horsepower for framerate and effects.
@GUTZnPAPERCUTZ Even if BF4 on Xbone is @720p, that version doesn't have better effects, AA solution etc. like PS4 version. Same things applies to Watch Dogs.
I don't mean to be so abrupt, but if you're so concerned with resolution you should have gotten a PS4.
well u return it if the resolution affects the game?
If you're that worried then don't reserve the game in the first place. Problem solved.
20 Gig is good considering the size and detail of the hub.Let's just hope they get there servers sorted for release.Trying to log into Ubisoft servers for days now on black flag to be greeted with the servers down message.Need to do better or Watch Dogs online will fall flat.
Same has been happening with Trials Fusion.
I think 20 gigs are just fine. Cod Ghosts was more.
Freakin' 40 Gig for that piece of shite.
So 20GB is pretty normal for install these days. And to think that a few years ago a full game was 1GB. And someday 20TB will be the install size which you can download in a few seconds. Technology, you have to love it
So 20Gb on XB1 and 25 on PC...not far off...that's not a texture difference...that small of a difference may just be more geared towards other voice over languages and abilities to play on different PCs (seeing as there are so many variables). Either way, less than 5Gbs for PC over console isn't big at all.
