Is Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare An Example Of Titanfall Influence?

"Two days ago, gamers finally got a glimpse of the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This trailer gave a very different vibe than any Call of Duty game that I can think of in the past, due to a very futuristic settings, which makes what we had in Black Ops II look ancient in comparison. With exo suits that look straight out of Robocop or something, Call of Duty definitely appears to have turned itself upside down for the next entry. After seeing this trailer, the only thing I could think of was whether or not this game was a reaction to Titanfall." - JPS

I doubt it. The game has been in development for over 2 years, but you never know. I personally think it borrowed more from Crysis. Hope the comment section doesn't turn into "oh yes it did because Titan fall is the best" etc...
I am excited for the game as I always am, now before you say anything I know the past games are not great, but I've come to love Call Of Duty for the simple reason of going on and having a laugh with friends, but all the cod developers need to change it up and thats because no one is playing this game anymore, I mean whenever I play this game, around 200K players were always online, now that number has plummeted and am just seeing 80-90k playing it. I mean black ops one had 80k players on when black ops 2 was released.

online on what platform, and please explain the things they need to change up cause i still believe thats just an internet truth

LOL I guess somebody are just too eager to make TF as something that is as huge as CoD like how many FPS were said to be "like-CoD" for the past 5-6 years now. and now they are trying to pass "like-Titanfall" as a 'thing' all of a sudden.

just forget it, TF is never gonna be as huge as CoD and this is not from a CoD fan. the last 1 I bought was CoD4!

I_am_Batman3644d ago

There is no way for you to know if TF as a franchise can become as successful as CoD. Nobody thought that CoD would become as successful as it is right now.

Thatguy-3103644d ago (Edited 3644d ago )

It looks nothing like Titanfall. Heck titanfall only allowed players to jump high with the jet packs and run on walls. Like xHoii said it has more of an influenced from Crisis because of the suite. We have to see how much the suite plays an element on online matches too.

Dirtnapstor3644d ago

I think that's in reference to the mech suits. You never know who's borrowing from what, but I really don't think it matters in the long run. These game concepts and development don't happen overnight. The COD series may redeem itself with this. Looking solid!

URNightmare3644d ago (Edited 3644d ago )

In that trailer, I saw an influence of Crysis and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Some people still trying really hard to make Titanfall look like something big lol

Titanfall has been a marketing success, nothing more.

HacSawJimThugin3644d ago

Strange that it has been at the top of the charts for weeks yet it just a marketing success...successful marketing equals critical acclaim as well as commercial success both thing in which Titanfall has in abundance.

jmac533644d ago

To me it looks more like Elysium, but I'm sure Titanfall will influence upcoming shooters.

timmyp533644d ago

lol. what? you actually clicked on that blogs website comparing the two? really grasping at straws imo.

jmac533644d ago (Edited 3644d ago )

Crazy right, I actually read some articles instead of heading to the comments to troll.

timmyp533644d ago (Edited 3644d ago )

I'm not a troll. I think... I love Sci-fi games and movies. I watched Elysium (My Review: http://movieandtvbuff.com/2... ) and I actually read the article -it was grasping at straws. We are acting like every story has to be a 100 percent unique experience. Who was it that said there are no original ideas? Mark Twain I think.

Lilrizky3644d ago

I think it may have a tiny bit of influence but again you can see how there's no wall running, there's climbing and the climbing looks a lot more scripted and slower than titanfall's wall-running. Plus there's no double jump in AW, it looks more like a one-time high jump. So while there was a tiny influence I don't think the next cod is titanfall without mechs. far from it.

I think Crysis may be a better comparison. That scene where the guy rips a dude from the car and chucks him for some reason reminded me of crysis lol.

At the end of the day the game is trying to be COD. that's what makes money

MaxKruger3644d ago

I think the Titanfall comparisons are really grasping at straws. Is there a titan equivalent in Advanced Warfare? Besides, the game has been in development before Titanfall was even announced.

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics383d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS382d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack383d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai383d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop383d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE382d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad594d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
