I don't get why people are giving Activision so much grief over Advance Warfare. Well, thats not true, I do get it. It's CoD, so people feel the need to stand around and point out how unoriginal it is.

Meanwhile, the movies and games that this CoD game is supposed to be ripping off are hardly the progenitor of those ideas. I liked Elysium, but it wasn't original in the least. Power suits and the storyline of that movie have been done before a ton of other times. Metal Gear Solid, while very good, is not an original idea in the least. Finding an original idea in today's society is exceptionally hard, if not close to impossible.

It's not really about original ideas anyways, so much as doing something unique and good with ideas that have been implemented before.

Have you even played MGS? genome soldiers, clones of a perfect soldier, faux historical events that coincide with real events.Boss, Big Boss that storyline and how you learn that she was the first to exit our atmosphere and was exposed to radiation.

I could go on.

So they did, guess my memory isn't what it used to be.

The guys who founded Sledgehammer were the heads of the Dead Space project however. Sledgehammer was founded in 2009 so they probably split right after Dead Space 1.

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

I quite enjoyed it but I think black ops 3 was the high point.

Modern warfare could be if a few tweaks are made and the new maps are good.

Story wise.. black opps 3 was all over the place. Modern Warfare story is so much more cohesive and actually makes sense.

I quit that campaign after about an hour. All I remember is some crappy robot drone combat R2D2 thing that you had to use. I didn't make it past that.

For me the Black Ops installations have always been the high peaks in terms of PVP mode. Black ops 3 campaign was pretty bad though. Advanced Warfare's campaign was pretty good, one of the best ones - but PVP was bad!

This is one of the few I never got to play the SP on. Redbox’d ut. Multiplayer was done if the worse I’ve ever played. Maps were bad. I’ll have to go back and at least give the story a go

It's too bad the game is impossible to find games on with Xbox One and PC. It is my favorite one this generation. I love it so much! But... no one plays it. So it makes it difficult to continue enjoying it :(

Great campaign, great zombie mode, and an okay multiplayer mode. Most of the multiplayer maps looked great, but I only liked 50% of them, due to the way they tried to force verticality into the gameplay. The limited edition Advanced Warfare Xbox One was a pretty slick looking console too.

I thought the campaign was a great comeback after ghosts but the mp bored me to tears.

It was also the beginning of the end for future warfare cod games at this point I didn't want blops3 because I just spent a year running around with the exosuit I wanted something new but it began a trend aw, blops3, iw before we finally got WW2 which was actually my highlight this gen as far as cod goes.

To top it off aw locked it's zombies mode behind a paywall which I found disgusting

Negative. Advanced Warfare sucked. And what do you mean "Ghosts didn't do anything new with mp"? It did a plenty new. It introduced “special orders” and completing them during a match would sometimes completely change the terrain of the battlefield.

Yeah it was a nice addition but i don't really see it talked about or used in future games the way perks, killstreaks, zombies, create-a-class, pick 10 etc. did for the series

I think on an overall level sure.

Blops 3 had better MP but the campaign was messy
Modern Warfare's MP has issues as i understand it but the campaign was spectacular
IW MP was crud but i highly enjoyed the campaign
Blops 4 had great MP but no campaign
Ghosts was average in both

I think AW at the very least has a solid campaign and solid MP but it's not the best in those individual areas.

I liked Infinite Warfare much better and honestly its weird for to back to this game, I enjoyed it quite a bit back when it released but considering what we now know about Kevin Spacey (an actor who I admired greatly) I don't think I can ever play it again.

Game is underrated. The campaign had a lot of clever, detailed map design to flow with the abilities of the various exo suits. The characters and story were pretty good too, and I was sad the game ended so soon right when things got crazy as hell at the climax. I think a sequel would've been made if so many people didn't complain about the advanced movement that they couldn't/wouldn't adapt to.
