A reflection on what inspires us to game and what gaming inspires us to be in the wake of Sony's remembrance of one of the greats.
Just hurry up and show us some GT7 already, so I can erase the underwhelming GT5/6 from my memory. Oh and props to Senna!
Ayrton Senna was a legendary driver, a world-class sportsman, and a phenomenal human being. Good on Sony and Polyphony Digital for paying tribute.
As a fan of F1 I watched that race as a kid and was shocked at the accident and his passing. If anyone gets the chance to watch Senna do so its a great movie.
It's a very emotional and good movie. The race in Imola is one of the first ones I remember watching.
I was 12 at the time and was watching the race on TV. Senna was my favourite and obviously I was happy he was in front if I'm not mistaken. It was a shock watching it happened and chilled me to the bone when the news broke that the legend has fallen. It still does to this day and I stopped watching F1 after that.
The best F1 driver ever, total legend. He was a proper racer, man and machine in harmony. None of the nancy pancy press the "Go Faster" button drivers of todays F1, could touch Senna for class and skill. Could we also pay tribute to Roland Ratzenberger, he also lost his life at the same race weekend.
Say what you want about GT, but things like that and the GT Acadamy show the dedication and passion of PD to racing that is hard to find with any other racing game developer.
Thats my favourite bit of all about gt, in every game you can feel the passion of motor sport and cars in general that the devs have, I think thats why im such a big gt fan.
A truly inspirational hero of the racing world. Good on Sony for the honoring a legend.
A great tribute from PD.
