Looks like someone got Bound By Flames a bit early for their PS4 as they were streaming the game earlier today. Here’s a look at the first two hours of the game.
I disagree. Looks like a casual Dark Souls without the clever level design or complex combat system, I would be cautious and wait for reviews if you're interested in it.
For God's sake stop comparing everything to dark souls.
Looks harder then DS actualy the first boss is pretty tough already
..and Dark Souls is simply a casual Demons Souls with all the bonfires/checkpoints to accomodate the noobs.
yea, because reviews these days are so helpful....
Dark Souls, clever level design and complex combat system? The quality of games have been significantly reduced from the older days... Dark souls, wait until the enemy makes his move, then attack, repeat. It gets repetitive real soon.
Don't feed the troll PeaSFor. Need to see some more disagrees up in here for souls which have maintained their level of hardcoreness. Bunch of Offtopic nonsense. This game isn't Dark SOuls. It has elements of Amalur, Souls, Dragon's Age, Dragons Dogma and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head but it looks cool and i will be picking it up May 9th Plus it is launching at $50. So it's cheaper right off the bat. With best buys gamer club i'm getting it for $40 with my CGU discount. I think i'll be pleasantly surprised with this game. Not setting my expectations super high as i would with an established franchise that has had multiple iterations, but looking forward to a new twist gameplaywise to see what it brings.
ooo looks like I had some store credit saved up too. i'll be picking it up for around $25 after certs and cash back on my card. no reason to wait with deals like that.
Graphics are a bit better than it looked previously
Yeah...looks interesting, think I'll give it a go next week...but that $50 price tag makes me wanna hold off a bit. Hope PS+ gives a discount on it for the first week, come on Sony...do it!
PC ?. The price there is like 300 bucks or if you wanna go dark side there is pirate but dont do it
Viewed this guy kaiico playing Bound by Flame on Twitch via PS4 live earlier today, same video posted with this article. Gotta say the new 720p upgrade is a super improvement! Anyway, it looks mediocre, has terrible unimaginative creature design, the hit detection is woeful, and the acting is awful. It's so bad it has LOL value. I can see this one relegating to the bargain bin, and a huge discount on PSN within 2 months of release. Truly a very poor linear RPG with low budget production values. I'm just being honest and alerting my fellow gamers. I love RPG's, but sorry this is a disappointing 6/10 all day long. Even Dark Souls on PS3 looks & plays better than this. Don't say I didn't warn you ;/
Have said exactly the same although some ppl may like it. I may pick it up cheap at some point but am not expecting much. The gameplay I have seen is poor at best but not to say it's the worst I've seen though. Looks a little like kingdoms of amalur
Sadly I would only be tempted if it was free on PS+. It really isn't worth your money or time at any price over $20, which there are better games to be played for that price. I followed Bound by Flame on Youtube for almost 8 months hoping it would come good. I think you may find even Two Worlds II is better...seriously, it's that bad. But of course, it's only my opinion...I just don't want folks wasting their hard earned money. Games aren't exactly cheap you know ;(
Even if it was free, I don't see it being worthy of any playtime.
There's,a,strong tradition of first a year RPGs being uniquely awful, so no reason to expect this generation to be any different.
Sadly, Dark Souls 2 is my deal for a while. I'll still play this in a few months but DS2 is a bear to follow.
I think it's decent for a smaller developer but I sadly have to agree it's probably headed bargain bin direction. Graphics are ok and they don't matter to make a game good. To me it seems like stiff battle gameplay and may have collision detection issues. Voice acting is ok but like I said it's a smaller developer and budget constraints will show. It may have to fill the void for us rpg seekers. Let's hope it satisfies ... even if its only for awhile.
Ill get it. I've been itching for an RPG I haven't played and that's very hard to find right now. Drakenguard is out at the end of the month but its been a very dull couple months.
They are streaming it again now
looks good. just wish they reacted more to damage.
Looks more interesting than anything Bioware has came out with the past 5 years or so and with a much smaller budget. I'm intrigued.
Thank you Nitrowolf2. This is great stuff to post. That lip sync though....way off. Am I wrong? That moving animation need a little work too. If this is they're first game, they'll get better with experience.
PS4 needs more games like this not shooters.
More games like this, but games that are better than this. Seems meh so far.
It's intriguing none the less... Looks fun enough and PS4 doesn't have any RPGish type games... I probably will get it, just not on Day 1.. probably wait for it to fall to $20
It's $25 for PC from GreenManGaming with a discount code.
Thisgame seems amazing tob e honest. Good narrative, good music, interesting features. Don't forget this is not a AAA budget game too lol
I'm most certainly waiting for various reviews before I pay full price for this. Hoping its better than what it looks like here.
I would definitely make a Kingdoms of Amalur reference before Dark Souls.
Those kicks man! I had a big smile on my face the whole time watching this. May pick it up.
I feel if they already have to drop the price to $50 as a new release to get people to buy it(from a usual price point of $60) it's already going to be a crappy bargain bin game. As soon as I see a company drop a price like that before release I can pretty much tell the game is already in trouble. I'm betting a rating of 4/10 from gaming sites, unless they give it a higher rating (6/10) due to the fact that it's one of the only RPGs that'll be out for PS4 as it stands.
pre ordered for £35... So i'm happy
