Do We Care About Playing Other Humans?

CCC Says: "Is online play for multiplayer games all that important? Many of you would likely say “yes.” However, I’m not entirely sure online play is what we want. I think what we really want is a thought in our head that says our victories are worthwhile. After all, A.I. can be worked around. Exploits can be found and computers can be tricked. Beating a bot just doesn’t feel good, but beating a person means that you straight up outplayed someone. You are better than that person. Your victory meant something."

I really could care less about online competitive multiplayer. I prefer local multiplayer and/or the ability to extend your single-player campaign with additional content.

Online play with strangers is a big pit of caffeine and insults directed at one's mother.
