Gary Swaby at The Koalition writes: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII marked the end of the XIII series, and with Final Fantasy XIV being an MMO it means the re-purposed Versus XIII is next on the agenda as Final Fantasy XV. Final Fantasy XV is based in the Fabula Nova Crystallis world, which means it shares some form of continuity with the FFXIII series. However, It is confirmed to play completely different to the XIII series as well as adopting an entirely new cast of characters.
It's clear that Final Fantasy XIII left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, becoming the most hated Final Fantasy series by both fans and newcomers. Final Fantasy XV has the opportunity to boost the series' appeal back to popularity, and with the footage already released it looks like Square Enix are on the right track. But what exactly do we want from the game?

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.
Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.
Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.
Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.
Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.
This is a great article about 5 things you want to see from Final Fantasy 287.
All of the things mentioned on this list are absolutely doable IMO. Square Enix also should take a long hard look at some of the things that fans didn't like about other games in the series ( most recently Lightning Returns) and focus on making those aspects better for the future. Final Fantasy XV is an important game so they should do as much as possible not to mess it up.
Only thing I want from it is a release date...
For me most wanted thing is OPEN WORLD, or at less world map like old style in Ff7, 8 and 9.
