Today, Nintendo has unveiled its plans for E3 2014.
Mega64 never cease to amaze me.
I sense greatness from Nintendo this year. Or at least I hope they deliver. Please show a new Zelda game!
I think they can deliver. Most people who want a Wii U are looking out for the new Zelda and this Smash Bros. live tournament will probably be very exciting to watch. Glad Nintendo is getting more interactive with the fans. :D
Don’t ever mess with Reggie is what I say… http://abload.de/img/0358_s... Anyways,I was actually shaking with nerd joy! *so exciting Nintendo direct incoming*
that was an awsome clip, can't stop laughing lol
That video was actually pretty good! Smash invitational and a digital event sounds interesting can't wait to hear more. ;)
Goodness gracious, people, stop automatically disagreeing. Yes, he often trolls, but a lot of the time he has sincere things to say. Actually read the comments.
It seems as if he got a visit from the ghosts of Christmas Carol... I cannot find another explanation for his constant flip-flopping...
Nintendo is gonna rock E3! I can't wait to see what all they have to show us this year!
No E3 show again? Come on man, get the Wii U out there, give it attention christ sake. Or is ASWELL as a E3 show?
Agreed I hope that's not what the digital event is for but if it is it'll be game over for them they can't continue to be making the same mistakes ;)
You do realize this changes nothing about how me and you watch the event at all? This year they have youtube and twitch streams so it wont have the lag issues it had last year... Also they are holding a freaking tourney for the new smash brothers on the Wii U and letting people play that version at Best Buy as well... You do realize at the last E3 they held a private showcase for the gaming press as well as having all the developers on hand at the even to discuss there games? ALSO they had a huge gaming area showcasing all the games.. Last year they didnt have a show and their stream had some lag but by all accounts they had a huge presence on the show floor and just as much coverage online... This year they are going to improve on that experience...
Simply being 'on-stage' doesn't mean you get more exposure. They didn't do it last year, and aren't doing it again this year, but are doing more than just the E3 directs. The live stage appearances are always awkward and cringe worthy. And the crowd just sit there like zombies. It's not exactly like watching Tom Jones live in Vegas, is it... what are you missing out on here exactly?
Tradition I guess. I used to be able to simply tune into a single network and watch all of the big three. I guess I just don't care for how disjointed the whole thing has become. I'll probably wait until the day after and catch all of the highlights from Nintendo
@Heisenburger To be fair, Nintendo would basically be restricted to a single hour on the E3 stage. I get the feeling that they plan on doing a LOT of stuff that would largely exceed that time. Unlike last year, it looks like staying off the stage is a little more justified this time.
So putting their presentation on Youtube and other huge streaming sites isn't getting the WiiU out there?? And Nintendo will be at E3, on the game floor showing off their games. And they'll be toring Best Buys showing off Smash Bros. Now tell me again how they are not getting the WiiU out there?
Agreed, they should hire Usher and borrow Sony's canned applause..
Excited to see what Nintendo announces this year. Fingers crossed for new IPs or Pokemon Snap 2. :)
I'm hoping Pokken Fighters will be the real deal. For those who don't know, a picture of what appeared to be a Pokemon fighter was released. Then Nintendo filed a trademark for Pokken Fighters a few days after the leak. Yes, that is what I want.
Just show us some cool, new, musthave games Nintendo and I don't care where you do the presenation from. I'm actually trying to think when Nintendo last had an E3 that a positive reaction and then actually helped out as a company... seriously... they've had some great presentations and crowd reactions that have failed to boost their sales.
The E3s where they had Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword were pretty good ones. The casual games were kept to a minimum and it got a lot of people excited. Don't know where it went after that.
Those were two very good gaming reveals, but at the point, the media had already helped make the Wii a runaway success. I just remember watching the GC verison of Smash Bros and Metroid Prime revealed and it did nothing for the GC sales. I remember watching the general excitment for the 3DS reveal and that thing struggled in the begining. I think the stage presentation(s) are little over hyped generally, but since they are "tradional" we get a little disappointed if Nintendo decides not to be there.
Time for Nintendo to disappoint AGAIN.
It's only a disappointment if you set your expectations beyond what anyone, you're a fan of, can deliever... and you're clearly not a fan, so why bother?
Just go in with low or moderate expectations. I'm easy to please, so it's cool for me to stay excited lol. Nintendo won't disappoint, I think. There's going to be a lot of Smash stuff and the digital event sounds fun.
You think Smash Bros and a new Zelda is disappointing? And that's not even the whole thing, that's just whats guaranteed to be there.
Soo does anyone know Best Buy's policy about staying and playing smash all day and night? Also Nintendo looks like a fun but dangerous place to work.
If the last Best Buy Nintendo event is anything to go by. It's ten minutes per group of players unless there's no one waiting to play. You can just go to the back of the line right after playing though.
Oh good. I didn't go to the last one but it is nice to know you can hope in the back of the line. Though I was looking forward to wearing multiple disguises to get a lot of turns...
actually it one game per group last year but the Best Buy Event Rep ask for all participant opinion on the event. Most people say to short for individual to experience. So it maybe longer. I played Mario Kart 8 last year.
I hope it is at alot more Best buys though. The line was hella long, and kinda far. I have a best buy 2 minutes from my house, but had to drive a half hour to go stand in line for 10 minutes of play. Not complaining though, I love the idea. just saying I hope they improve it.
That video was pure gold. Love the humor Nintendo has even with Nintendo being slammed at the moment. I'm sure Nintendo will absolutely bring the pain this E3.
Good move by Nintendo
E3 in just 6 weeks. I don't know if my body will be ready in time...
Better be an epic online stream...
That's a lot of really cool stuff. Certainly not expected, but at least Nintendo will be at E3's show floor and doing a bunch of stuff. Gimme mah Zelda U and Metroid and I'll take everything else with a big ol' smile on my face! :D
I like Nintendo's new e3 approach better than having a stage confrence this seems more for the fans.
It's not that surprising that Nintendo is following suite of what they did last year. Having the ability to manage a controlled environment is easier in case 'live' presentations tend to occasionally have issues. They can present at their own pace & focus on the games rather than the spectacle a live press conference needs. Nintendo will do their E3 direct as usual and the same as last year be on hand at the show floor. It's what Nintendo is comfortable with so why should people complain.
Nintendo have just gave E3 to Sony and Microsoft again
LOL!!!!! I have nothing to add here.....
Ok ? I don't known why they don't wanna do a bug event like a traditional E3. Give the Wii U more exposure.
Smash Bros. at Best Buy is by far the best part.
I'm really gonna miss the on stage presentations...
if we get more funny videos like this, screw an actual stage presentation
I like the video. At least Nintendo recognises that it's not 5 year old kids that are interested in E3.
Sounds like what they did last year.
This thing it's supposed to have humor, rather than just Iwata talking about the games. So for me, it's ok. Better than nothing.
