If Sony shows off gameplay of the new Uncharted at E3 this year, is that enough for the PlayStation brand to walk away with a "victory," such as it is?
We all know ND likes to surprise their fellow gamers on bigger events.
I think it's going to take a few years for them to get used to the PS4 before they can produce outstanding visuals, like how Uncharted 2 was far better visually than the first. However, their storytelling, like always, will probably stay great. My biggest expectation is to see more immersive gameplay mechanics.
A few years? More like few months. Sony's ICE Team developed Uncharted 2 and according to Mark Cerny himself it only took them a couple of months to master the CELL processor, so i would imagine that with simple PC architecture it's not gonna take as long as you might think. plus by the time naughty dog's main team has released the first uncharted the ICE team already had a year+ worth of experience since they were the very first ones to receive PS3 devkits.
Wasn't the whole point of PS4 designed to shorten the development time?
Uncharted 4 will help, but they should also be showing more stuff since they have some of there best studios still with unannounced games. Plus there should be more on the order 1886, games from media molecule, Sony Santa Monica, and maybe QD. Sony should know they can't rest on there momentum and hype if they want PS4 to stay on top
Santa Monica needs to do a new IP. Not sure how involved SM is with The Order 1886.
Uncharted 4 of course, but The Last of Us PS4 is enought to kill all xone games of E3. poor xbots, hard future is coming...
Idk I have quantum break and sunset overdrive to look forward to :) and Halo 5 and a few jrpg exclusives. And also a new killer instinct season and D4. Also with unannounced first party exclusives from new studios like LXP and Microsoft Osaka and black tusk etc...... Seems like to me Xbox owners future is bright ;)
They blew the roof and had everyone talking the last few times they did a demo on stage. Pretty sure nothing will change and the gameplay demo will cause a lot of buzz.
back with an army of AAA exclusives and Uncharted 4 leading the pack then yeah. Lol Why do I have a feeling someone will giff that?
I dunno why ppl are disagreeing one game can't win E3. That's like saying all MS has to do is show off Halo 5 and game over. Nintendo's Zelda and that's that (Well for some that is) Its the strong newer Ips that supports the strong well known Ip's.
Still remember E3 2009, UC2 demo and GOW3 demo....what a show that was
yes. Cuz the dogs will win goty..
Don't know but I can't freakin wait.. This will truly be an exciting E3 2014. Sad that Tretton won't be there though.. :(
This author makes an interesting quote, "I put "win" in quotations because I always thought it was silly to determine a "winner" at an event where the industry is supposed to "win." This is a good perspective to go by unlike the stigma making E3 out to be like some type of martial arts tournament or sporting event where the "best man" (or team) wins. Bottom line is the gamers "win" at E3, whether that gamer be a Wii-U, PS4, XBO, PC fan.
I don't really buy in to all this talk of "winning" E3, as it's an expo, not a contest, but saying that I think Uncharted 4 gameplay would be well received by the PS4 community. Whether ND will deliver remains to be seen, but you can almost count on there being The Last of Us Remastered footage on show...
I don't think Uncharted 4 is the only thing Sony will bring to E3. I think something bigger is coming.
I want to see an update on what the majority of Sony's first party developers are working on, not just Uncharted. Even if the games aren't ready for a gameplay reveal or trailer, Sony needs to let the fans know what is being worked on, and at least give concept to the games we know are being developed but don't even know titles or genres for those games yet. Sony arguably has the best first party devs on the planet, it's time to show what they are working on for PS4.
We can expect a lot of surprises this year
