Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition worlds will be transferrable to the game's upcoming PlayStation 4 version, developer Mojang has stated. (Minecraft, PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

Thats true, the PC version is in a constant state of evolution. However, despite not taking much to run, a lot of people don't have a PC for gaming, or find fixing faults or updating patches a daunting and scary task, being somewhat PC illiterate.

I still enjoy Minecraft on the PC immensely on a weekly basis but I only have 2 friends who have it, and they rarely log on any more, but about 20 friends with PS4's, so for them it's the closest they'll get to experiencing Minecraft. I bought it on XBLA myself so I could play splitscreen with 5-10 year olds (Child Minder) and my 360 owning compadres and looking forward to doing the same on PS4...

Sure It'll be my 3rd time purchasing this game but what's money when compared to seeing kids go wild with their imagination and getting to enjoy minecraft with a large majority of my console owning friends.

The PC version does have a LOT more stuff. It's also buggier.

Snapshot builds tend to be buggy, being early releases still in development to test new features en masse, the stable releases are not very buggy at all, the console versions have the possibility of just being as buggy.

That's a little unfair. The console versions also get a lot of the same updates, albeit at a slower pace. Mods are unofficial and kind of a given for PC, so it's a little bit unfair to count those against console games.

Wouldn't really make sense to.

So this confirms that the PS4 version will be the same as the PS3's? I think the X1 gets the computer version. Or closest to it.

The code is the same across all consoles. (PS3, PS4, 360, XBO, Vita)

The only differences will be draw distance, frame rate, and resolution.

They've already tweeted about this.

not much difference between console versions
randomass171  +   94d ago
It doesn't confirm ANYTHING like that. It just means that data can be shared between versions.

If they have cross-buy or at least cheap upgrade, I'll buy it now for PS3.

I've been itching to buy the PS3 version, but I want to play it on my PS4 so I'm holding off. If they would just announce cross-buy or an upgrade offer I'd jump in and buy it right now.
