Sony should have released God Of War:Ascension and Gran Turismo 6 exclusively for the PS Vita

PS Vita is the best handheld ever created, but it doesn't have the exclusive titles that will "force" people to buy it.Sure there are some great examples such as Uncharted:Golden Abyss,Killzone Mercenary,Tearaway,Little Big Planet but that's not enough after 2 year that the machine has been in the market.

It would have sold a lot, if this two games came out for the PS Vita Exclusively and would have brought more fan to the base.

They did it for the money. Why would they release it on the Vita and not the PS3 since it has an install base of 80+ million.

Think of it as a long term investment. Those games would have boosted the install base, prompting more companies to make more games for it, thus creating a larger install base. Larger install base = more money

A larger install base doesn't guarantee more money than they would have made than with releasing it on Vita, not to mention the ridiculous resource constraints they would have faced. The Vita is not as powerful as the PS3, and making Polyphony redo their engine again would have tossing years of work on GT5.

I think the developers probably had some say as well...

Its likely business wise it would have been better releasing them on the vita. Its goes back to the longterm vs shortterm investment.

A single piece of software will only get you so much profit (unless its pokemon, GTA). Alternatively a game could sell less on a newer, smaller platform but boost hardware sales for a few months which increases software sales (because theres more hardware), which means more software in general because theres considered to be a market on the platform which results in even more hardware sales and even higher software sales... Essentially Investing money into the Vita when it was struggling would have likely benefited sonys pockets more then invetsing money in the PS3 after its peak, where decline is inevitable regardless of how many exclusive games were releases. Just look at the sales for GT6 and GOWA, both games saw huge declines but could have set alight Vita sales and made it a viable platform.

It wouldn't sell as much as on the ps3...

That's really not the point though. Neither game sold all that well (compared to previous releases in the franchises) but their appearance exclusively on the Vita would have brought a lot more attention and sales. You'd be sacrificing early gains for a long term benefit for the Vita ecosystem.

I feel the exact same way!

No they shouldn't. The home console is their main platform and that's where they need to have the big hitters. I love my Vita and would like more games for it, but I would hate to have games like that forced exclusively on the Vita just to pump sales. Those are games that if I can I want to play on the big screen. I wouldn't have minded ports with ctoss save function so I can also play away from the TV, but I wouldn't want to have only the option to play on the Vita.

I think vita should have its own GT series. A custom built GT that takes advantage of vitas hardware features would be awesome. Maybe some hard to get car upgrades only available in certain manufactures regions. Could emphasize trading with friends or randoms from different regions to build what you want.

Ie: If you live in US and want to max out a nissan you'd have to trade with someone from asia a stage 5 engine turbo for a similar upgrade for a mustang. Though that would probably tick a few people off I guess.
