Apparently nobody seen what i did there.

Jingeridit3661d ago

I did. 16 days passed April Fool's Day. I agree, it's shocking to think that Sony and EA are saying that £39.99 is a 'deal'. That's the price it should of been at launch. Disgusting.

Razmossis3660d ago

39.99 is full price!
The last time I paid more than 40 pound for a game it was Black Ops 1, and that was 44.99

How are they saying this is a deal ?

Rockefellow3660d ago

It's not that nobody SAW what you did; it's the fact that your comment was just playing off a dumb, tired argument that's been beaten into the damned ground.

We get it. Digital prices for PSN games are egregiously priced. I have this neat little trick I do to really stick it to 'em and avoid the issue altogether, though-- don't buy them! Bam.

£39.99 is still too much after all this time. Whilst I'm not suggesting they give these away for free, a more reasonable price would be better suited imo.

If I was in charge these would be in the region of £14.99. I guess I would be fired pretty sharpish.

Darklordnick3661d ago

£25 ish and i would be tempted ...

dodgemoose3661d ago (Edited 3661d ago )

£14.99 isn't a reasonable price to them. Something in the region of £30 would be more sensible.

hkgamer3661d ago

lol. thats too much at this moment in time. think £30 would have been a good price to tempt me.
im a sucker for discounted games and i would get both if it was priced right. i dont even play fps and i would have got it.

Neonridr3661d ago

holy $hit.. $99.95 was the starting price? That's absolutely outrageous.

Volkama3661d ago (Edited 3661d ago )

Kinda defeats the point of such a low price for the console doesn't it?

I am not convinced that the industry has the right idea on game pricing at all. Gotta wonder, if the game was a 3rd of the price would they sell at least 3x as many copies?

You'd hope in these times of experimental pricing models somebody will try "cheaper" somewhen :)

Neonridr3661d ago

It's just ridiculous that pricing is that high over in Europe. I mean a brand new game in America is $59.99 ($64.99 in Canada). So the "sale" price is still $10 than what you would pay retail for a brand new copy here in North America. That's just insulting.

Volkama3661d ago

It is, but we've always had that over here. It's not new.

The digital stores on both new consoles do hammer that price home though, as it's full-on no discount in-your-face ripoff. Not even the "EA/Activision premium" get's masked at all (they both typically charge more than the platform holder RRP for games).

Neonridr3661d ago

I guess if you were going to go digital you would just set up a NA PSN account to make your purchases. Save a heck of a lot of money that way..

hkgamer3661d ago

@neonridr

i think average wage in eu is a lot higher.

uk prices is just a rip off though.
digital prices are at full rrp, but retail games are normally 10-15% lower. nothing in uk sells at rrp which makes it kinda pointless

UsUcK3661d ago

Exactly and this is why I purchase games from the American store for $60.

ziggurcat3660d ago

That's not the standard edition.

The standard edition is regular 69 price...

Clown_Syndr0me3661d ago

Now £39.99? I paid that price for BF4 3 months ago, a disc copy too so I could always sell it on if I wanted to.

As for NFS Rivals, it sells for £20 second hand on disc. Why would anyone pay double the price for a digital copy?

These aren't deals at all, they're rip-offs.

esemce3661d ago

Cus it's an EA masterpiece that you will want to keep on your hdd and play forever.

For about £40 I bought BF4 and premium for the PC. These £55 now £40 prices are a discrace and some fools wanted a digital only system.

If it can't compare to steam then forget it.

Clown_Syndr0me3661d ago

Exactly!
Some fools have actually gone Digital only this gen...its idiots like that causing this problem. Why lower the prices if people are paying them?

I know not everyone likes to sell on their games, but for those that do going digital is never going to happen unless the prices really are very low.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250757d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface757d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop757d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno757d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel758d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps757d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33757d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888757d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH757d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.
