"From today until 22nd April you can pick up Battlefield 4 and Need for Speed Rivals direct from PlayStation Store at a great price. So whether it’s warzone action or intense speed you are looking for we have you covered."
Only 16 days late...
Apparently nobody seen what i did there.
I did. 16 days passed April Fool's Day. I agree, it's shocking to think that Sony and EA are saying that £39.99 is a 'deal'. That's the price it should of been at launch. Disgusting.
"Saw" Nobody "saw."
39.99 is full price! The last time I paid more than 40 pound for a game it was Black Ops 1, and that was 44.99 How are they saying this is a deal ?
It's not that nobody SAW what you did; it's the fact that your comment was just playing off a dumb, tired argument that's been beaten into the damned ground. We get it. Digital prices for PSN games are egregiously priced. I have this neat little trick I do to really stick it to 'em and avoid the issue altogether, though-- don't buy them! Bam.
£39.99 is still too much after all this time. Whilst I'm not suggesting they give these away for free, a more reasonable price would be better suited imo. If I was in charge these would be in the region of £14.99. I guess I would be fired pretty sharpish.
£25 ish and i would be tempted ...
£14.99 isn't a reasonable price to them. Something in the region of £30 would be more sensible.
lol. thats too much at this moment in time. think £30 would have been a good price to tempt me. im a sucker for discounted games and i would get both if it was priced right. i dont even play fps and i would have got it.
holy $hit.. $99.95 was the starting price? That's absolutely outrageous.
Kinda defeats the point of such a low price for the console doesn't it? I am not convinced that the industry has the right idea on game pricing at all. Gotta wonder, if the game was a 3rd of the price would they sell at least 3x as many copies? You'd hope in these times of experimental pricing models somebody will try "cheaper" somewhen :)
It's just ridiculous that pricing is that high over in Europe. I mean a brand new game in America is $59.99 ($64.99 in Canada). So the "sale" price is still $10 than what you would pay retail for a brand new copy here in North America. That's just insulting.
It is, but we've always had that over here. It's not new. The digital stores on both new consoles do hammer that price home though, as it's full-on no discount in-your-face ripoff. Not even the "EA/Activision premium" get's masked at all (they both typically charge more than the platform holder RRP for games).
I guess if you were going to go digital you would just set up a NA PSN account to make your purchases. Save a heck of a lot of money that way..
@neonridr i think average wage in eu is a lot higher. uk prices is just a rip off though. digital prices are at full rrp, but retail games are normally 10-15% lower. nothing in uk sells at rrp which makes it kinda pointless
Exactly and this is why I purchase games from the American store for $60.
That's not the standard edition. The standard edition is regular 69 price...
Betafield 4 should be cheaper
Pay us to play?
Now £39.99? I paid that price for BF4 3 months ago, a disc copy too so I could always sell it on if I wanted to. As for NFS Rivals, it sells for £20 second hand on disc. Why would anyone pay double the price for a digital copy? These aren't deals at all, they're rip-offs.
Cus it's an EA masterpiece that you will want to keep on your hdd and play forever. For about £40 I bought BF4 and premium for the PC. These £55 now £40 prices are a discrace and some fools wanted a digital only system. If it can't compare to steam then forget it.
Exactly! Some fools have actually gone Digital only this gen...its idiots like that causing this problem. Why lower the prices if people are paying them? I know not everyone likes to sell on their games, but for those that do going digital is never going to happen unless the prices really are very low.
Those aren't deals when the retail ccopies cheaper.. Also, this only concerns EU region unless otherwise stated.
they are deals. its digital so cannot be compared. however, they are not great deals. it should be under £29.99
What do you mean it can't be compared? Digital or not in the end of the day it's a price point that is relevant. If a retail copy of the game is 45$ and the same title is available on the psn store for 60$ Its not a bloody deal.. Even if they said digital game was previously 69$. It's a simple math, not to mention digital was supposed to be always cheaper since there is no transportation fee, retail display fees annoy there is no disk to speak off...
@sokol its just different. publishers have to keep retailers happy by setting a good price for the digital store otherwise retailers would order less. retailes also need to adjust the cost for games according to how many games they have left in stock. if thye have tons then they lower the price. if copies are getting sold at a steady rate they can keep original price. Retaielrs need to handle their stock properly which is why we get discounts. Digital stores doesn't need to handle stocks so why do they need to lowewr the prices? If it was $69 and then was $68 it IS A DEAL.... not a good deal but still a deal at the end of the day
I bought battlefield 4 ps4 retail yesterday. I returned it today. Freezing, stuttering (even in cutscenes). Crashed the console. When it did play graphics were missing - entire buildings weren't there, including the one I was in. The game is a broken mess. It should be removed from sale.
I play BF4 all the time, I dont see any bugs anymore :S
Man I was looking to grab need for speed once the price dropped...looks like I'll have to check else where.
You guys who live in the UK like me should make a free American store on your ps4. Then buy $60 off ebay and buy games that way. This is how I've paid and pre ordered the last of us. Never again shall I pay £49 or £55 for a game here.
im too attached to my uk account, dont know why though. i do import ames every so often though. thats definitely the cheapest way to purchase games
This is what you call a deal? wtf.
I speak for everyone when I say. "these deals suck dick."
Thus one of the reasons I hate digital. These games have been cheaper than this at retail for some time, like around 30 dollars. Yet dropping it to 40 is a "deal" when its digital, and it only lasts what a week? But hey, death to Gamestop...... yay....
