The Lag in Battlefield 4 Just Keeps Getting Worse. Battlefield 4 Game Breaking Lag Latest Footage.

It’s been a problem for a long while but is now becoming a joke.

This is footage from Caspian Border and the game just seems unplayable right now on most servers.

I've never known a series be so consistently shit. Even Battlefield 2, a game which everyone seems to continue to praise, it was borderline unplayable at times. I lost count how many patches were released. The common trend with these games is that they release a patch to fix a patch that fixed an issue introduced in the patch before that. Each one bigger than the last. It's shocking.

Really, look up a changelog on any of the Battlefield games. It's almost funny just some of the things that something as late as patch #5 will fix. Things that make you think 'how the fuck did this pass version 1.0?"

This game should not be this buggy and unstable after so many updates and fixes. How is this bug only NOW surfacing? It BEGS an explanation. The funny thing is, even when they do release yet another inevitable update for the game, something new will crop up. The cycle continues.

With all that said, underneath all this is an absolutely terrific game that has moments of brilliance sprinkled in. I WANT this series to do well, but DICE need to find a new team to code their games. It's beyond a joke at this point.

Agreed. Will not get BF5 until I'm certain they've patched it up, rendering it playable. Responding with the wallet is the only way to get through to some of these companies.

Lol, this is NOTHING compared to the lag that I have seen. Seriously, I have made a promise to myself that I will not get BF5 on launch. But will wait until it's all patched up. Oh and did I mention that I don't plan to buy a brand new copy of BF5? Yes, gotta stick it up to the man which would be EA/Dice in this case.

Well, I've played it a lot (more than 50 hours, first BF I enjoy since Bad Company 2) and the only two problems I had was rubberbanding and tons of server search issues.

Two big problems, but I can't recall any other recurring problem in my experience.

To be fair, most people that are going against the game, as usual, didn't even play it.

These are legit complaints regarding the game and it's already a common acceptance that BF4 is a broken game and problems after problems surface with each update since launch.

The game was simply not ready for launch but EA launched it anyway and now trying to fix it post launch which is pathetic considering there are lots of other games' betas running with less bug than the retail BF4!

I doubt they care THAT much anymore as they already made their money and EA's minds are probably already on their upcoming year end FPS and DICE's are already on the next BF while only a couple of people in a 2nd (or 3rd) team are left to "try" patching this mess maybe for long enough until people forget about it and focus on the next BF!

I am a huge battlefield fan and I haven't bought one dlc or premium for BF4 and I am sure I am not alone... also not buying BF5 new, going to get it used, DICE/EA deserve that...

It's like a house built on dodgy foundations. The walls will crack and everything will start to fall down. The only option is to knock it down and start from scratch. Which obviously can't happen when the game is already out there.

Which leads to the inevitable conclusion that the game is far beyond repair. Anyone that thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves. I saw the signs and stopped playing it 3 months ago, and have been rage free ever since!

I'm very disappointed. I have the season pass, I downloaded the new navy maps the day they came out, the lag was so bad on big servers I just couldn't play it. I haven't touched the game in weeks, Dice/EA doesn't care though as they already have my money for the game and DLC, refunds should be in order when a game isn't playable. I should get a refund for 1/5th the cost of my season pass considering right now I was only able to play 2/3 so far.

The smaller scale digital only BF 1943 is probably the least buggy of all the BF games I know of. Don't recall many problems even at release.

Sometimes less is more, they are trying too much to fast. Before they fix engine or server issues from the last game they introduce even more to stress it in the new one.

I think everyone should demand that dice/ea refund the money to premium buyers and then give ALL the DLC to everyone for free to partially make up for what they've done to us, and fix the lag and bugs of course...

You've just described the biggest mistake DICE made with the game, and the biggest thing that everyone is angry about.

They should have delayed the game, and spent more time ironing out bugs, rather than push it out early just to compete with COD (which will never happen now).

My PS3 friends have stop playing after the game crashes more then anything, the beta ran better then this. Gaming seems to be going down hill, I mean why make a that works when you can patch it later. It seems like more games are getting that bad.

This is what I've said since BF3. It seems absolutely ridiculous that DICE didn't implement ping filtering on the next gen versions. Instead they kept the broken Quick Match option which causes a hell of a lot more problems.

Their whole approach to the game has been flawed.

loved bf3. but man 4 was so messed up. i got it on launch and i couldnt play the multiplayer that i wanted to. and the save files for single player got wiped out a ton of times. i wont be buying 5. i gave it a month to sort things out and nothing got fixed at all.

EA's problem has always been their "netcode" in practically all of their titles with a multiplayer component(obviously).

It's been like that for years. Which I find surprising for a company with a revenue in the multibillions.

Upgrade your net infrastructure EA...it's a long time overdue.

I think it has something to do with the Game, now being connected to the BATTLELOG. (Test Servers, don't seem to be connected to the BATTLELOG, as no player made Logos, show up)

FIFA series(on all platforms) have had many issues online for many years, prior to all this "Social connectivity" implementation. Many of EA Games are an online stutterfest/ micropauses. Fifa isn't the most demanding game engine on the planet.

I'd understand if I were still on 56k, but I'm not. I can download a 40GB PS4 PSN game in under four hours.

Since EA have been providing an online component there are many issues across the board on many platforms, despite who developed the game... so the only reason I can fathom out that EA's net infrastructure isn't up to scratch.

However... I'm not really seeing much lag in that video, especially towards the end! Have encountered far worse on the Naval Strike maps.

I've been having a BALL with BF4(on PS4)since February. Yeah it rubberbands on 64conquest mode sometimes, but then I'll play a different game mode. IMHO, BF4 is still the best multiplayer game out. I've had way more Great experiences than bad ones.

I been playing BF4(on PS4) this whole time since I've posted 6hrs ago. And I haven't had any issues. How long ago did you play & on what system? I played only on PS4, from the westcoast. So I can't speak outside of that. I'm alittle suspect about you, because if you've ever played Team Deathmatch on BF4 and COD, you would know theres a BIG difference between the two which BF4 still comes out on top IMHO. Yes I have played TitainFall & Killzone and this is still by far the best shooter out even tho it rubberbands sometimes.

Stop hating on the game. I have been playing since release and have only experienced lag maybe once or twice and I just switched to a different room. I honestly believe this is by far the best online shooter ever!!! I love the game and I wish people would stop complaining. LAG when gaming isn't just based on their server it's your internet connection? Maybe it's bc I have a T-1 but I haven't experienced the lag. 32-32 is awesome !!! I can't be the only one that loves this game.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say you're missing the point completely. No one is doubting the game itself. The actual GAME is fun as shit. No one can deny that. In fact, it's probably my favorite game in the series yet, personally. That said - it's incredibly poorly made and unstable. No game should have to go through so many updates and STILL be unplayable for some. Each new patch seems to introduce some new issue. This isn't an isolated case with BF4. This has been going on ever since the series first started. It's a combination of EA's absolutely shocking server infrastructure, and DICE's inability to efficiently optimize and make games.

Just because you are having a decent experience doesn't mean everyone else is. The issues with this game have been well documented and for good reason. Many of the issues people face with the game has absolutely nothing to do with lag, nor does it fall upon the responsibility of that persons internet speed. I myself have an excellent internet service with incredibly fast speeds. No other game gives me as much aggro or frustration as this series has. This series has been given a free pass for far too long. The only reason people still buy these games are for the simple reason that, at it's core, it's brilliant! They're just so badly made. Well people have finally come to terms with the fact that we need standards and are at last calling EA/Dice out on their bullshit, and rightly so.

Playing a Battlefield game can be best described as driving an old beat up car. You're always worrying it's going to break down and fall to pieces at any second. It's a miserable experience that completely ruins an otherwise excellent game.

When my PS4 got stolen, I hadn't touched BF4 for like three or so months, so when I finally got back on this week I hoped it was all patched up or something...

Good god, first match of Large Conquest and my throat is sore already from yelling at this BS game...

The worst part of everything is they (DICE I assume) have taken something that was working pretty damn well in BF3 and not only did they fail to IMPROVE the playability (not gameplay I mean actually run smoother is what I expected), but they made it much much worse??

Yeah, I sold my BF3 copy one day when I realized everything went to shit. That in turn, made me realize that BF4 was one of the worst gaming investments to ever make, so I couldn't bring myself to purchase BF4.

Buying a season pass + DLC content + the game itself when none of it works together as it should? I don't know of many other games that have these types of issues. And especially in the form of continuous releases with these issues. They've spanned these issues over multiple games!

And IMO it was way too soon for BF4 anyways. Let's hope Bad Company comes back and actually makes improvements.
