4 Ways Uncharted 4 can be Awesome

With great success comes great pressure. Like any critically acclaimed series of games, Uncharted 4 bears the weight of its predecessors. One thing is all but certain – the game will be good. But will it be great? Will it push the medium forward like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, or will it simply hold serve as a great, but ultimately uninspired game like Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception? Here are 4 ways Uncharted 4 can be the game we all hope it to be. (Next-Gen, PS4, Uncharted PS4)

#1: A long 20+ hour game duration, just like Uncharted 2.
#2: More countries to explore. Ancient, cities and rural.
#3: Less emphasis on multiplayer, more on story.

#1: Uncharted2 20hours long? :P it was just as long as U3. Bout 9-13h
#2: I hope we do not explore too many different settings, but with a great connection between them.
#3: hell kick that multiplayer to next level. Uncharted MP is absolutely fun!

Can't wait for Uncharted 4!!!

Uncharted 3's multiplayer was crap compared to Uncharted 2s.

Uncharted 2 they just threw it in there but with Uncharted 3 they spent way too much time on it trying to compete as they said at the time "the big boys" when Uncharteds online could of been it's own things.

We got crappy gimmicks like loadouts, upgradable boosters, weapon mods, paid boosters, kickbacks. Totally unbalanced the game

They should of had it like Uncharted 2 but the only weapon you get to choose from is your secondary weapon, either a shorty, pistol or revolver. All weapons on the map would be randomized in different places.

I wasn't too thrilled that I couldn't playthrough Uncharted 3 story with my choice of weaponry once I had completed the game the way I could in Uncharted 2. In addition, I think the thing that made Uncharted 2 multiplayer so much fun was it's simplicity. It was a no frills mode that just gave you exactly what was needed, no bells and whistles, and it was great fun. Uncharted 3 multiplayer was a much deeper mode, but lacked that little something that Uncharted 2 had in spades. I expect Naughty Dog to pull out all the stops for Uncharted 4 and deliver something completely unexpected, and brilliant. It will be a true show stopper on PS4, with the kind of visual delights they leave on in the stores to draw crowds to the flat panel displays.

If the multiplayer is anywhere as good as 3, my number one.
THe story will be fine I'm sure.

not sure how you played uncharted 2 but that game was not 20 hours long.

2. i agree with this

3. also agree with this, story means a lot more to me then some multiplayer add on.

I agree that UC2 is not 20hrs long, but it personally took me close to 20hrs to complete, comparing to around 10hrs for UC3.

This includes the story and artifacts hunting for 100% completion.

I totally agree with less emphasis on MP. And that's not a knock on MP, but rather a hope that they allocate their resources more to what Uncharted is truly about - single player experience.

More like Uncharted 1 & 2, less like Uncharted 3. A bit darker and more mature would be welcome as well. Uncharted 3 had some great set pieces but the game was so unevenly paced. The entire first half of the game is filled with generic gameplay, cutscenes, melee battles & puzzles. Way too many puzzles and not enough gunplay. THe second half has all the amazing set pieces. Uncharted 2 was truly perfect so they should really try to mimic that game while making a brand new experience.

I agree with everything but the darker tone. I think that's what The Last of Us was for. Naughty Dog now has two amazing properties. One Indiana Jones, all fun kinda game, and one serious, mature game. I'm good with that polarity.

1. Be Uncharted 4.
2-4. Irrelevant.

I love Uncharted, but I feel it may have run its course. The worst thing you can do to a game franchise is stretch it too far, ahem Call of Duty.
erictaylorkid  +   101d ago
I don't think it has run its course at all. Look at Assassin's Creed. They have been releasing that game on a YEARLY basis and it's still fresh to a lot of people. There are so many places and adventures Naughty Dog could take Drake and they spend years making each one, not pumping one out each year.

I think "run its course" was a bad choice of words. I just mean if there was no more games I wouldnt mind, as theyve accomplished enough already...or something.
